How long do you live in your first lives?

5 days with an average of 6 hours/day. Killed by a hacker in NWA

I'm not counting my actual first in which I was doing great for the 5 hours I played and got killed because I went AFK for literally 1 minute - mailman ringing my bell :(

Never found out how / why.

PS : I did that great probably because I spent a whole day reading / watching guides before I even touched the game.

First life. Steered way clear of the zeds. Ran into the woods, but didn't really travel very tactically. Suddenly I heard this zipping sound and a smash, and then "You are dead" lit up the screen. Got one-shot one-kill sniped from a mile away.

First life I didn't have much knowledge of the game so I didn't really know what to do at the time. I was playing with my buddy and we were looting the church in Cherno and while we were looting the church we killed one guy coming into the church and about 10 minutes later we were still in the church and that guy and his buddy came back and put satchel charges around the church and blew us up xD. My first death and that life probably lasted me over a day.

I spawned near Kamenka. I'd just been watching some vids so I had a vague idea what I was doing. I basically spent at least an hour crawling around on my front trying to enter buildings in the area. Then I spent a while trying to harvest some pumpkins and pick up an axe, the ones stuck into the wood that you can't collect. A player ran up to me and then I realised I didn't know which channel to speak on. While I was trying to figure it out I aggro'd the whole village and after a VERY long run north I tried some fancy footwork to lose the zeds. I failed and was eaten alive. Happy day's!

I remember my first time xD It was pitch black, i used a road flare, took it up and ran like hell, i didnt know where i was and how to survive. As you can guess it didnt last long before the zombies had their dinner...

The first time I played I instantly met another player who had spawned near me. We both went into Kamenka and we killed by some douche! So glad they removed the mak from the starting gear!!

With all the trouble I got myself into I don't know how I was able to survive over 10 minutes much less over 30 minutes. It probably helped that I went on a server with maybe 7 other people.

The biggest problem I had with my first spawn was try to figure out that oh so intuitive backpack and I ended up dropping it somewhere along the way (pack that is) trying to switch to a better one. I ended up running around for a bit until I realized that I didn't have a pack anymore.

Spawned near Otmel, ran west to that container crane and found out I didn't really have the hang of ARMA II controls or the slowness of the stand up / lay down animation stuff, or how glitchy action menu locations were...

long story short, I aggroed this Zed - maybe you've met him?

I was thinking about making some suggestions and this would help me understand how do most people play in their first few hours (deaths) and what your experiences are with this game.

look im very knew to this game and i voted 5-15 but it all depends where a spawn and what i do straight afterwards. if i go to a town i cant find squat and so i get a hatchet and maybe a dagger i dont get food water etc cause i cant find any. right now though ive got a m16a2 and an m9 as well as a map and i bunch of other stuff from a looted tent but im probably going to go into a town trying to find more stuff and die hahahaha so really 5-15 is only if i do certain things ;)

In under 15 minutes of life, a complete noob got an m16a2 and an m9? Not to mention map and "a bunch of stuff"?

I can't be the only one thinking the game has lost its essence of being "hard"

My first life I spawned and it was dark and I thought my game was messing up because all the videos i had seen they had a gun, and I didn't, so i was like D: but I did not know they had like just removed the spawn-in with gun lol. So in the dark I start running down the rail road tracks being chased by loads of zombies and finally shake them and log off for the night. Next day, I go back in, and its day on the server so I can actually see whats around me! So I start running and see a small town (probably Kamyshovo, I did not have anything, so no map, so i don't know for sure lol) and suddenly the first play I have ever seen so far, drives past in a tractor, sees poor little me being chased by about 10 zombies, hops out with a en-field and starts shooting the zombies, but all of the zombies stop chasing me and just surround him and he finally passes out and they are eating him on the road, and I can't do anything so I try running by them trying to get them to chase me again, trying to save him, but they wont, so I hop in the tractor and drive off. And I had read you could eat animals and get blood, and by this point i had very little blood, and suddenly I see a sheep! So I decide "Hey. I'm in a tractor, I will try and run it over and then eat it!" but stupid me I did not know yet you needed hatchet/wood, matches, and a knife. Well I try to run it over and suddenly my newly acquired tractor explodes killing me! Oooo the "dayz" of being a noob...lmao, well anyway, that was my first life lol

In case you don't know, that building was probably a firehouse and you wer ein a big town (either cherno or elektro), most definitely. Especially cause those are the 2 big sniper spots nowadays

My first life was odd for me. I didn't understand the controls (never played arma 2) and didn't understand the inventory. I joined some unofficial server (Had no clue what was what) So I have a machine gun with lots of ammo and a pistol will a lot of ammo. I killed about 30 zombies before getting injured and started bleeding. I ran down the road and got the zombies off my back and was able to figure out how to apply a bandage. I came onto a lighthouse and started climbing a ladder about two steps from the top I passed out and fell off the ladder and that was my first play through. I did even worse when I found the official servers and spawned with next to nothing.

I spawned on the South Coast town near Balota and I sneaked around zombies mostly, so it was easily over 30 minutes, maybe even an hour. I was familiar with the controls and I watched some videos where they sneaked around zombies, so I did that. I was a bit aware though, I didn't want to aggro a single zed :D
