So my character reset... possible causes?

My character was probably on his 15th day (not long for some haha) of survival. I decided to try out lingor island just to see how it was. I thought it was good but i wanted to get back to the original map because of my gear.

I was doing the usual, making silly noises at the "wait a moment..." screen, screaming at the "loading..." screen for taking too long, when all of a sudden "please choose your gender" appeared.....

My instant reaction: "WHAT THE FUCK HAS HAPPENED I BETTER NOT HAVE LOST ALL MY STUFF OMGOMGOMGOMG QQ"

Next thought: "What if it's just glitched out?! I'm sure my character will still be there"

My thought after i loaded into the game: "....DA....FUQ?!??!!?"

I suspect that playing on lingor island had caused my character to delete on the original map, but i read that it would not affect my original character. I also remember being near the north-east airfield. i laid down, logged out like normal, and that was it.

I have two questions;

1) has anyone else experienced this after playing lingor island?

2) Are there any other possible explanations for it?

You just connected to a server with custom hive, other servers will still have your equip :facepalm:

Lingor Island runs on a private hive. So your character from Chernarus is different then your character from Lingor.

And your character from one Lingor server is different from another Lingor server.
