Yes, another 'performance' thread.

My rig:

Intel Core2Quad Q9550 @ 2.83 GHz

MSI GTX 560Ti 1GB Twin Frozr II

8 GB DDR2 RAM @ 800 MHz

128GB Crucial M4 SSD (SATA2 speeds)

Running Arma2 vanilla (or pretty much any other recent game, BF3, Max Payne 3, etc.) poses nowhere near the challenge for my PC as DayZ Mod does.

I've searched for hours and hours... Running at 800x600 or 1920x1080, Very Low or Very High (no AA, no Post-Proc.), my FPS will never exceed 45, and that's when I look directly at the sea. Usually it's between 20 and 25 which is just unplayable for me. It dips down even further in/looking at towns.

I run Beta version 93616 of Arma2 OA, and the latest DayZ Mod. Command line settings -cpucount 4 -maxmem 4096 -exthreads 7 (as I have gathered from several threads). The only time I really felt any improvement was when I turned MouseSmoothing to 1, which didn't actually boost my FPS but made the game a tad more playable.

I'd settle for a minimum FPS of 30-35 but that's just not happening right now. I don't know what to do, I bought the game just for DayZ mod and now I can't play I'm very disappointed. I understand the game is in Alpha so I guess I'll have to wait until it has time to develop a little more but I can only hope that performance will increase even then.

If anyone with a comparable setup has any solution or just anyone that did something to improve their FPS, I'd love to know!

Cheers,

Floris.
