DayZ Suggestion - That something that DayZ was lacking

Now, I've been playing this game a lot recently and I have to say, this is by far the best mod I've come across. Now to the point. I have noticed there are lacking elements to this game, partially because it is a mod.

I will list them below, but this is just the opinion of several people:

and I have to admit, it had some pretty damn good ideas, some of which I thought of but some never even crossed my mind. Go check it out.

Food and water are hard for new players to come across. I like many of the people I play with die because I was missing water or food. If this game aims to be realistic, you'd need to go without water for several days, but this time is too long obviously. But I reccommend increasing the time before getting thirsty though.

Location is very important, and I consider this the MOST important factor that this game is lacking. The location is far to tropical. There needs to be a change between the two, the urban areas are all farm-like or industrial. There should be a large contrast between the two. There should be cities and towns as well as tropical areas in which you would need to cross to reach other cities (unless of course you take the road - which is far more dangerous)

You start the game after being killed and want to meet up with your friends but you can't due to the fact you are lost or too far away. So there should be something that allows you to choose where you spawn - obviously this area would need to be limited, e.g. if they want to keep the fact you spawn on beaches, then you should be able to choose where on the beach you spawn so that you can meet up with your friends otherwise it would be a great nuisance trying to meet your friend and dying when you actually meet up with them.

I only think of this as a maybe, A.I. Survivors? or bandits?

Danger zones and safe zones. Danger zones are where there are signs saying to stay away as the area is heavily infected and have zombies everywhere. Safe zones can be either one of two things, which ever everyone thinks is better. Safe zone - players cannot kill each other and there is a trading system in that area. Or safe zones may be areas which are much less infected. Safe zones may be attacked by zombies in which players may ditch he area or help defend it (like an outpost attack in dead frontier). Safe zones may be an area in a city or underground.

Zombies are also now attracted to light, yes fire and torches now increases the chance of you getting spotted by a zombie. But then you can throw a flare which zombies then run away from you :D

Players should also be able to hole up in a house by barricading themselves. The barricades can be destroyed obviously but will not attract the zombies attention unless they see you inside the house in which Get out somehow our your screwed. Other players can enter barricaded places with enter system if the player inside opens the barricade for them.Or they can just destroy the barricade XD

Maybe a roleplaying system of some sort? Possibly? Again, this is a maybe.

Also, the bandit system, I forgot the mention and I haven't seen it anywhere YET. I think that self defense should not make you a bandit. Another thing is armor. Do we start with some armor like in dayz right now? maybe we start with a shoddy one, or none at all. But then we should be able to find gear such as armor as we progress into the game. Its needs a dehydration sorta thing, it is mentioned, but another thing I would like to add is hallucination> which could be from dehydration or taking drugs - certain drugs buff you be increasing speed or something for a certain duration but may or may not have negative effects after.

And again I'm not sure about this idea: If you are a bandit, you may find certain clothes in the game which flag you as a surivor?
