New WHITELIST ONLY server: 216.244.84.218:2352 - Chosen DayZ - Chernarus (Regular|3D:ON|CH:ON) - SideChat: On - Fresh start 9/16

Recommended Posts

You are happy to post that, and feel how you want - all 20+ people on the server know the real story.

The goal of the story is to keep it as legit as possible, which will be vouched for by anyone else other than your group who threatened to DDOS the server.

I'll let everyone else happy with the server and the 10+ people who all cheered when you guys were removed speak for itself.

Repaired and found a pickup on day 1 in this server. Looted all night and parked it for bed timez. Logged in and it was still there. Drove it away from parking spot for about 3 minutes and found a chopper parked in a nearby field. Took chopper and put truck back. Buddy one asked someone where they were, they said Berezino. We went there to kill him cause we knew he had a UAZ the day before. Went there and couldn't find him so we left. Went to debug looking for camps, etc. Found a camp of 2 buses, 3 UAZ's and some tents. No one in sight. Dropped off buddies and flew off. They said they saw someone and open fired. Apparently it was the admins just logging in and we ended up killing them all, minus one. Looted everything, blew up vehicles, and left. At this point the side chat was on a witch hunt calling us hackers because the admins were just logging in and we were at their base. We were understandably defensive and pissed that everyone was calling us hackers and saying to ban us, simply for us playing the game.

Admins attempted to diffuse the situation at first which was cool, though they failed. They then began falling in to the mob mentality and we were all eventually banned. The logs were obviously not checked. I'm not bothered, just writing my experience. Off to one of the other thousands of servers.

If side chat could be regulated better, this server would be fantastic. Until then, I can not recommend it.

the 20+ people never saw your ridiculous camp 2 days in and you dont address that part of the post at all. You accuse people without looking at logs and ban based on your personal feelings not actual offenses. You are free to admin your server how you see fit I am just trying to warn others who might be looking to form serious groups on your server that they will be battling with abusive admins.

5 people with a camp of 5 vehicles 3 days into a server that has double the normal spawn of vehicles is not ridiculous.

There are several other people who have a few vehicle, which is understandable for that many vehicles spawned on the server.

s6 server just opened up those admins are clearly not abusers i'd recommend it to anyone looking for good hardcore gameplay of dayz. it seems that in the absence of hackers on private servers the admins become the hackers themselves, playing god with bans. very sad that principled people are few and far between

Last night we had almost 30 people on the server. I was there and I was so happy that those 3 people were banned. They were threatening DDOS if they got banned and spamming chat with nonsense. After they were banned, the server was more more fun and enjoyable. I am happy that the admin took the time to ban the people who were ruining the experience for everyone else on the server. Also, keep in mind, the camp that was destroyed was the admins, and he could have easily restarted the server and restored all the vehicles that those people destroyed. He did not. He said "well, we just have to find some more vehicles". The admin is far more legit that the players he banned.

I'm down. On my phone at work but I'll register and try to get on when i get home if I can. In the middle of a phase 2 military exercise so doing 13-14 hour shifts this week, in full chem gear (heavy suit and gas mask etc) >_<

But if granted access I would definitely become a regular.

I don't like to be a full blown kos everyone I see bandit, but I definitely can't play as the over trusting, hand holder who frolicks in a field of daisies either. If that's acceptable.

Nameplates are indeed off, but you may be referring to VonID (when you roll your mouse wheel over an object).

DayZ Commander pulls the settings information from the difficulty setting of the server first, and then any overridden values in the actual name of the server.

Our server is set to Regular, which will show that nameplates are on even when they are turned off.

Taken from the DayZ Commander FAQ:

How do the server settings work (3rd person, croshairs, etc), and why are they sometimes wrong?

When DZC queries the server, it only provides the difficulty level. Unfortunately, the difficulty is fairly useless, because it only defaults the server settings (3rd person, crosshairs, nametags, etc). The server admins can override any of these individual settings.

To counter this, most servers add their "actual" setting values to the server name. Ex: 3DP:1 or CH:0 (3rd person on and CrossHairs off, respectively). To determine each setting, DZC takes the default from the server difficulty setting and then anything in the server name overrides that.

The problem is that the server name might be outdated and be displaying an invalid setting. There is no perfect way to get the "truth" as of now. DZC just does it's best with the little knowledge it has.

If someone knows the overide for nameplates in the server name I'd love to use it haha
