Cooking Meat

Recently I started a fire, and i have wood in it too. But the meat wont cook. Is that I need to wait long or have I done something wrong?

Meat must be in your inventory (not backpack). Every meat that you have in inventory will cook when you select "Cook Meat" action at the fire.

This happened to me too. Don't put the meat into the fire using the gear menu. Just make sure it is in your active inventory (not your backpack) then hover the cursor over the fire and use the scroll wheel to select "cook meat". You'll do a brief animation and the meat will cook in about 2 seconds. Then you can enjoy your nice 800bp snack. :)

Yup meat is the best food. Also if you see a cow, and can safely kill it then do it. Cows have 8 meat that can be gutted, that's 6400bp!

Do you need tools to gut the animal?

Yes, you need a hunting knife in order to get the raw meat from an animal.

Hunting knives can be found pretty much everywhere (I always seem to get mine in stores or pubs).
