hastein 0 Posted June 13, 2012 I can play the Demo of Arma 2 on the default "High" setting OK. It seems the view distance is important with this game (especially the DayZ mod), which makes me a little paranoid about my setup. So, if this setup can handle the Arma 2 demo OK will DayZ run the same? Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400(2.66GHz)4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 1GBWindows 7 HomeI just want to be sure before I go buy the CO game pack. I've been watching videos of DayZ and regular gameplay and it seems epic.

rillepille 7 Posted June 13, 2012 I think the view distance is set by the server. But you should be okey with your setup.

chrispow 3 Posted June 13, 2012 I think the view distance is set by the server. But you should be okey with your setup. It is indeed set by the mission. Weather should affect view distance greatly, but it doesn't matter what you set in your options. Since I don't know if the game uses unnecessary power to load higher view distance I've set mine to the lowest possible as it is locked to the mission anyway. patluk@sasktel.net 1 Posted June 13, 2012 I have a Q6600 that runs the game swimmingly. Your 250 is a bit on the aging side but you should be OK, and if you need to 1280x720 should boost your frames.
