Stand alone suggestion about locked items (I searched =])

Recommended Posts

For the majority of weapons and ammo the idea that they sit in the open all the time is not the most realistic. I think adding foot-lockers, lockers, buildings with locked doors, and safes (maybe on the safes) would add a bit more realism, but not too much.

=To get into a locker you must have a crowbar or tool kit.

=To get into a locked house you must have a crowbar (or break a window, both of which are noisy).

=To get into a safe you must use an explosive or combination (maybe on the combo, where would it be found?).

=Increase the rarity of tools or crowbars or limit them to areas where vehicles spawn to limit availability and increase PvP interactions at these "hot-spots"..

This will ensure the rarest weapons stay in the hands of the most prepared players. Also hospitals and military areas would have their medical supplies and equipment under lock and key anyway. Throw in the option of a possible alarm for break-ins (rare) which would send every zombie for a kilometer after you. Of course soda cans, food and water would be available as easily as they are now.

This idea is not for all weapons, just the upper echelon or as a random encounter.

This may need to be moved to standalone suggestions, I apologize.

This doesn't need any help whatsoever. There's enough deathmatch going on as it is. It doesn't need help.

Rocket himself has already said that he'll be implementing these ideas. The Arma 3 engine is able to do all of these and incorperate lockers and make basically every building available to enter. Also, why would you want to increase PvP? like, i understand it's part of the game, but shooting on sight and blind disregard to people and their motives is quite arrogant, if anything PvP should go down.

As someone said on a playstyles thread, bandits aren't the problem. It's deathmatchers that ar the real bane of the mod at the present time. PVP isn't the issue as much as the mentality that you HAVE to shoot ANYONE you meet that you don't' know.

Exactly, It's not the bandit style of play, it's the mindless killing that Call of Duty has purged the world with. If anything, there needs to be some sort of minor punishment for just plain ignorant shoot on sight kills, otherwise this game will just be like any other game, just mindless, senseless killing without any thought.
