Spawning Into Day Z

At the moment, it seems players are only spawning on the south side of the map. (Hence the thousands of noobs in Electro and Cherno)

I was wondering if Rocket would ever change this so that players could spawn all around the map.

It seems like a good idea to me. Let me know what you guys think.

EDIT: Another way for people to spawn is in a downed helio, or broken down car. This gets people scattered out more so there isn't constant bloodshed in the 2 southern cities.

I find the system good as it is. Survivors come ashore and try to survive inland. That's good enough for me.

reason why spawns are near the coast is because its significantly easier to orientate yourself without a map and only given the online one, once otherwise you need to wander around looking for a landmark.

Yeah the majority of players spawn on south coast, but sometimes you will spawn inland or on eastern coast, happened to me a few times. Don't know all locations but I can confirm Novy Sobor is one of them.

But yeah maybe up the % of spawning at other places.

Yeah, I love the idea of spawning at the coast. I remember when I first started DayZ. The sea was THE landmark where I could orient myself. "Just follow the shore and you're bound to stumble upon a larger city / port". If I spawned in the countryside I'd be totally lost which would also be a bit unrealistic.

i like spawning on the coast i just wish the spawns would occur on the eastern shore a bit more.
