The problem with reporting hacked gear

My question is, should people with hacked gear in their inventory be banned? After looking at tons of posts, a lot dead bodies are found with hacked gear and a lot of these people who find the bodies take the gear, play with it and then later report it to this section of the forum. I hate to imagine how many players have been banned (like my friend weedman) for having hacked gear from another player.

Would it be possible to make it a bit more of a thorough investigation before just banning someone for having a mk17 or whatever?

Yes .. MYSELF i killed one person who had a M4a1 CCO SD and i guess its hacked.. as i read but Thats Not MY problem because i just looted it. They Should just Remove the THings or make a better Hack Security
