Day Z Made Me Check Out Arma 2

Recommended Posts

So, because of this thread, I finally checked out Arma2.

I went through boot camp, which was really just cake and a chance to finally drive a vehicle (a hummer no less!). The interface is completely familiar to me, because of Day Z. There were some topics in there I will check out later, but I figured I knew enough to at least get started. I bailed out of Boot Camp, and checked out the single player campaign.

I really enjoyed what I've played so far. The missions have been great, and it has a feel to it like the original Ghost Recon - but updated. More modern, more immersive. I'm really impressed, and I think I'll eventually play out the entire story as well as Operation Arrowhead.

I do not think I'll be going online, though. Not unless I could find a total noob group, people who haven't played the missions before and are new to the game. I get the strong feeling that veterans would absolutely spoil this game for me. They've already been through the missions, probably hundreds of times, and would be racing with expert foresight from objective to objective. I'd just be the "stupid noob" holding everyone back, because I'm doing it for the first time. Maybe I can get my Day Z buddies to play it with me.

go online. if you dont mess around, kill ppl or blow up planes nobody will bash you for being noob. just try reviving teammates and you will eventually learn other stuff about maps - objectives.
