Survivor Armies?

So, whats the biggest group you've been in? I was thinking how much fun it would be to just roll into cherno with a group of 25-30 people and absolutely dominate everything. You wouldn't even need decent guns. Imagine coming around a corner and seeing a mob of people strolling casually with Lee enfields, Makaroni's, Double Barrels, and Hatchets. It doesn't matter how well armed they are, you're going to

A: Run

B: Shit your pants

C: Shit your pants and run

D: Run while shitting your pants

E: Try to fight and get lit the fuck up

Or

F: Throw a grenade.

Well, lets be honest. You step in front of a group of 25-30 people. If one of them doesn't just shoot you outright, and they see you winding up the throw, you're gonna get lit up. If you don't step out you are either going to miss thanks to the shitty grenade throwing, or using third person peeking tactics like a pussy.

Yeah, you'd just have some asshat shoot everyone with an M249, because that's what is cool in DayZ.

or using third person peeking tactics like a pussy.

You act as though people have honor in DayZ.

In a target rich environment people tend to get overanxious and shoot wildly, he would get a few but he wouldn't be walking away.

Well, my point is, you wouldn't be invincible, you would lose people, but for the most part, anybody willing to engage a group that big in a firefight is probably not very smart, and wouldn't last long. Besides, I've won in firefights when I was solo against multiple people with M249's.

You're obviously playing on recruit servers.

I'd like to organized a diciplined line infantry survivor regiment of 250+ men dressed in brightly colored uniforms armed with smoothbore muskets.

make it happen rocket.

What makes you say that? The fact that I encounter idiots? The fact that I've won against groups who had M249's solo?

Sir I believe you're looking for the Mount and Blade: Napoleonic Wars forum.

I met up with a streamer once... we had about 20 people in a group maybe more... was pretty cool running around with them. The biggest group I ever played with for real was about 8 people.

Back on topic when ZN started playing we could effectively lock down Elektro with Fifteen people, but there are communication difficulties in coordinating that many people in a single teamspeak channel. Friendly fire happens, people get told to shut the fuck up, tensions rise. It's a legitimate concern for large groups, typically the best results come from several smaller groups collaborating.

Yea, I'm not talking holding anywhere down, I mean just moving as a single mass, slaughtering anything and everything in its path.

I'm sure even that would be a logistical nightmare.

I'm sure it would, which is sorta why I wanted to know how it turned out for those who have done it.
