Tents Fixed?

So after losing all my gear in 2.5 in a tent I was nervous on using one again, but my back was hurting from lugging around a Hal, Xtra NV's, GPS and so on, I read and was told in 2.6 it has been resolved, so I decided to test it - I pitched it in my fav spot (I was able to get it in the trees more - Thank you Rocket) put my Halo and gear in it - Head to Stary Tents for Ammo and then Chero Hospital for Anti and blood and Med gear, went to tent and filled her up with the Meds and the headed to Baracks to log out for the night. I log in and I am a little nervous, 10 peeps in Server at 4am EST, I look at the Baracks from a distance, empty - Messaged the Players I was bouncing the box in 15mins (I restart every 4-6 hrs depending on usage) Restart her, log in and head to the Tent with fingers crossed, It is there (But) Halo and SD Stag Rounds, M Rounds gone, 2 Blood Bags gone, in return I get a FN FAL AN/PVS-4 with 6 clips, Antibiotic, and cooked meat. So I can Safely say the Tents are fixed for ME - And thank you to the player for not stealing everything and trading, I hope you have fun with Halo, and I hope I dont get shot with it :)

I found a duplicating glitch as well. Everytime I log in, another empty tent appears next to mine. Weird.

I'm banking on it. 4 tents, 1 bicycle, 1 ATV, and a V3S civilian all gone on a server restart. Pretty anxious to get home from work to see if they're all back

While it does seem that tents are fixed, I don't think vehicles are. Me and my brother had an offroad pickup and a sedan, and when we logged back in they were both gone. Our tent was still there untouched. It is possible that someone found it and stole the vehicles but didn't see the tent, but I don't estimate that to be too likely.

If the server really did reset right after placing the tent the slight roll back that happens on server restart may have sent it to void. Tough luck but not an unknown occurrence.

It sometimes needs another restart to come back again. Sometimes my tent vanishes after many succesfull restarts, it will come back and vanish again every once in a while.

Someone mentioned that if you pitch a tent, save it, wait for the server to restart, THEN put your gear in it and save again, the gear will be OK. Anyone try that or heard of it?

Yes, apparently tents can move a bit after the first restart if they were placed inside a tree, a rock, in the slope etc. If they move, they destroy stuff inside. After the first restart they won't move anymore, they just vanish every once in a while :rolleyes: If they are destroyed by others, they remain there flattened. So if your tent survives the first restart, and later on there is nothing there, you'll just have to wait for another restart.

I keep experiencing that when I pitch a tent too close to a tree it doesn't respond at all, no gear, save, or pack down. It's physically there - I can't run through it. Anyone else experiencing this?

It's a risk you take when placing a tent in a tree. Plenty of times though, I've been able to find a sweet spot (just a few pixels where you can go prone and get lined up just right to get the access icon to pop up) sometimes it can take quite awhile to find it (just go prone and move very slowly while rolling your mousewheel back and forth) and other times you are just SOL . Still worth the risk in my opinion as well hidden tents are much more secure.

I also had one tent which I could access just fine for a few days but each time I rebooted my server it moved just a bit down the hill and further into the tree until eventually I could no longer access it. Luck of the draw with tents. You can only hope for the best and just deal with it when things don't work out.

Try waiting for a new restart. It's random as hell, they might be back.
