my first car is a helicopter

Spawned on the hill overlooking Elektro this morning, it was night and the server was quiet, i was planning on stocking up on food and drink so I scanned the town with my bino to check for activity when I spotted it.

A chopper, the first one i've seen in game sat in a field just to the north west.

I watched it for about 30 minutes, also scanning the area for possible snipers etc, there was zero zombie activity so I ventured down.

No gear on it, my excitement subsides as i expect it to have a problem mechanically or no fuel, in i jump and bingo! it starts =) about 80% fuel in the tank and in my mind 'Ruse of the valkyries' is playing full blast as I tear through the sky living out my nam fantasies, first vehicle I found in game and it's a chopper, happy days.

I have never seen a legit chopper landed... always in the air... trying to shoot me.

Lucky man! Played the game 2 months and only seen 2 in the sky, one crash when trying to land when spotting our vehicles, never seen one on the ground.

Yeah, in my excittement I kinda forgot the owner, there was only one other player in server at the time and his name was Masterstiven, if anyone knows him and he can prove he was the rightful owner I am willing to return it to him.

As there was absolutely no zombie activity in or around elektro I assumed the true owner had died and had rerspawned elsewhere or maybe a hacker had used it as a taxi and dumped it.

I do feel guilty if it is the property of a genuine player who lovingly restored, maintained and fuelled it up, if it was a hacker then I guess it's just my good luck to stumble upon it before some other player.

Haha, sprinted towards a helicopter in electro I bet, think yourself lucky it was only you and one other on the server otherwise you'd be dead within the minute!

Nah i'd say you deserve to keep it.. remember that age old saying: "Finders, keepers" ;)

It's been vandalised, i just logged back on to find it bullet ridden, how do i repair the engine?

Gotta find some of these mate, not the easiest things to find! I recommend looking here mate if you can get there, usually plenty of chances for vehicle parts there! Maybe next time leave it in a more hidden spot ;)

Thankyou James, I'm guessing that someone nobbled the chopper to stop me moving it and are already retrieving the engine parts, will give it a go though.

EDIT: on second thoughts, i will stake it out and snipe anyone who returns while a buddy gets the parts.

I wouldn't really be interested in having a chopper for longer than maybe a few hours, i think it would just attract far too much attention. Hard to raid places and sneak up on people when you're audible from almost a kilometer.
