Can't see others direct chat text.

Date/Time: Constant

What happened: Can write to others in direct chat and they can see it but I can't see what they write to me, chat on vehicle channel works fine both ways. I am close enough to them, I'm on the right channel and the players are not muted.

Where you were: Anywhere on any server

What you were doing: Trying to chat

*Current installed version: 1.7.2.6 also had problem with previous versions.

*Server(s) you were on: Various servers, mostly AU servers, haven't found one yet where chat works.

*Your system specs: 2700k, gigabyte 560ti, 8 gig ram, windows 7 professional.

*Timeline of events before/after error: Problem has been persistent, seemed to begin when global chat was disabled but hard to pin point exact start time, there have been many threads started by players relating to this problem so I'm not the only one, have also goggled it and the same problem is mention on several other forums so it seems to be a reasonably wide spread problem.

Are you near other players? Direct chat is like LOOC, it only works in a certain radius.

I know this solution may seem wierd but it helped me, I too suffered from this exact same "bug."

What I did to fix, is plug a microphone into my computer, I havent had a trouble with direct chat since.

He knows what he's talking about, God.. Had this before, It was because all my input devices are disabled, You have to have at least one input device (mic) enabled, even if you dont use it, Then restart the game

If you go to recording devices and right click -> show disabled devices. Then right click on stereo mix and enable it, you will not need to plug in a mic. Also this device will act like a microphone if you set it to the default, except instead of recording external sounds it will record what is going through your speakers (it's a good way to troll).
