I picked up some hacked camo the other day from a hacked medical box, sooooo therefore I'm a hacker?

As an owner/admin of multiple servers you've shown me absolutely nothing to prove that this guy hacked/scripted.

Does he have a hacked gun? Yes, sure, but those are a dime a dozen now and if I banned every single player I came across with one I would have empty servers. I warn people and ask them to either drop/destroy the weapon or remove it from my server. Usually they take them elsewhere. If they don't then I repeatedly boot their ass until they get the message.

It's very, very rare that someone will get themselves banned for having the as50-TWS on my servers. Usually they remove or drop them on request. Besides, there are so many tents duplicating that gun, on so many servers, they know they can easily pick it up elsewhere. I will, however, insta-ban them if they're using the as50-TWS to camp noobs on the beach ... I consider that to be part of the "disruptive to the game" rule.

Did he teleport? There's no proof here of that. Maybe you'll get lucky and an admin can find something in the logs to support your claim, but for now there's no proof this guys is an actual scripter.

That's sound policy, good to know that's how admins see it.

Only once have I come across (what I assume was) hacked/scripted-in gear, a month or two ago. I spawned in the woods where I had left off -- on Berlin 36 I think it was, a server I'm on sometimes -- and not far from my position I spotted a massive fire, so I checked it out carefully. It turned out to be a crashed heli and there was a corpse there, this guy had everything: AS50, NVG, RF, the works; no thermal scope tho, so I couldn't really tell if it was legit or not and just counted my blessings, took the stuff and moved on. Shortly after that I came across yet another crashed heli, and that's when I really started to suspect a hack.

Point of the story is, I had some fun with the gear but it wasn't really satisfying because in the back of my mind was this feeling that it couldn't possibly be legit. In the end, a team of four guys spawned on my position -- that seemed odd, to say the least -- I killed two of them and then got brained myself :) It was better that way tbh.

Speaking of hacks, is it theoretically possible for a scripter to take control of a player's in-game character? A friend thinks this may have happened to him yesterday, but we can't be sure, it could have been some kind of hardware failure on his end. The end result was that he gunned me down and wound up inexplicably dead himself. This guy is a friend IRL and we move as a team, he's 100% reliable as far as that goes so I can rule out an ambush. Has anyone experienced this?

Hope I'm not hijacking the thread with my question, will start a new thread if it gets out of hand ;)

I warn people and ask them to either drop/destroy the weapon or remove it from my server.

Some admins have an alternative solution, auto-announcing coordinates of people with hacked items in a global channel, so other players could hunt them down or just stay away.
