Hospital glass?

Ok so i managed to find a hospital ... I needed painkillers badly. I heard that to get in its just a matter of shooting the glass, I unloaded 3 whole clips from my makarov into a pane of glass & was still unable to gain entry! ... What did i do wrong?

go to the back, climb the ladder to the roof. check the cardboard boxes for supplies.

Oh and don't get sniped off the roof.

You can either go on the roof or THROW TIN CANS at the glass about 2-3 cans will break it!

Should be plenty of supplys on the roof or in a box near the ladder

All you have to do is break the DOOR glass. The doors are under the awning with the arrows on them. Two or three shots will do it. Or the can trick works too. Don't waste time on the roof or shooting the windows.

shoot the far left glass window of the set and they all break at same time.. took me 2 shots with makarov.

I always just throw one can to break the glass. It's pretty much completely silent too :)

I have never been able to break the glass with a makarov, even with 3 clips. I just used my shotgun and got to down in 1 shot.

I'm not making things up here... The doors have arrows on them. Break the doors and the rest also shatter. It's that simple. Now say thank you and move on.

I usually just shoot the glass on the most left side, and it breaks with a single shot (with the winnie)

Yes, it depends on the weapon (ammo) you use. I read something about a guy who shot about 3 makarov mags in the window and it don't break. But that's unusually, I think. (:

Shot each window once, I work left to right, after the 4th pane it shatters, never put more then 1 bullet into each pane of glass, otherwise you are wasting that round.

Cheers guys, All the time ive been playing this mod and you lot have let me into a couple of things i didn't even know. I didn't know you could throw empty cans at the windows & i didn't know loot/supplies where stored inside the cardboard boxes ... All the times i walk straight past boxes too.

Never tried the makarov, but it takes like 9 Glock shots, or two revolver rounds. I've only broken in twice so far.

Just so you don't start looking at every cardboard box expecting supplies, this only applies to a select few boxes on the roof that you'll notice look a bit different and will give you the option to open them when you put the cursor over it. Not sure if that was clear.

I also didn't know about the tin cans or that knocking the doors out breaks them all. I've only shot the windows out once but as I recall it only took 3 shots from my makarov. However, it also aggro'd a dozen zeds so I didn't get the chance to loot the place.

The roof is nice but I've been sniped up there a couple of times, usually once I've gathered supplies and am climbing down the ladder (so my corpse falls and will be easier/quicker to loot). Approach the roof with caution.

So how do you actually throw a empty tin can at a window? I mean i had a empty tin can in my inventory but when i right click the tin can i get no options! ... How do you actually throw a tin can?

Like you would a flare, grenade, etc. If it is in your active inventory (not your backpack), cycle through your options using F (default key) until you see Tin Can in the upper-right corner. The cursor will become a circle; aim, hold down your left mouse button depending on how hard you want to throw it, then let go.
