Fyre (DayZ) 6 Posted September 11, 2012 I've seen on a few servers that once in a while, the server wipes all instances of loot on the ground. So that is to say that supermarkets, military spawns, and other frequently looted places that have been picked dry and left with nothing but empty cans and chemlights are cleared and allowed to spawn new, useful items. Without a server restart.Anybody know what that is? I hate that I have to basically restart my server if I want to regenerate crashed helis, or basically reset areas like the NWAF barracks by loading up all the junk and dropping it outside to trigger new spawns. insitv 305 Posted September 11, 2012 You don't have to restart your server to reset loot spawns.Try http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/86751-demystification-of-the-dayz-loot-spawn-system-spoiler/ to get a better look at the loot system. You are correct about the heli crashes tough. They only respawn loot after restarts.
Fyre (DayZ) 6 Posted September 11, 2012 You don't have to restart your server to reset loot spawns.Seeing as I still see loot piles in front of places that have been placed hours, if not *days* ago.. this doesn't help if the areas in question are full of loot that nobody wants. Very few people are willing to pick up trash loot and move it so that fresh loot can spawn. The plugin I mentioned does a server-wide wipe of all loot on the ground, and basically makes it so everything is empty. Then the system you linked kicks in, and things will spawn. It's not instantaneous, but it saves a lot of time emptying crap from places.
