[Solved] SIX-UPDATER INSTALLATION

Hello

Need some help:

SIX-UPDATER INSTALLATION

1) Download and install Six-Updater from http://www.six-updater.net/

2) Go to options and make sure the target path for Operation Arrowhead main folder and mod folder is correct.

3) It should say at the bottom that you have A2 Operation Arrowhead (Combined Operations) installed.

4) Create a 'New Preset' from the 'Preset' tab in the top menu. You can name it 'DayZ'

5) Click the 'Mods' tab in the main window. In the searchbox type in '@DayZ'.

6) Right click the DayZ mod in the browser window and 'add to preset'.

7) Click on 'Home' tab and 'Install or Update mods'. It will automacitally download the latest version of the mod for you.

8) To run the game click on 'Launch the game' through Six-Updater.

This tells me everything about Six updater. But in: 2), it tells me about this mod folder. Please tell me what to do. I will buy both ARMA II and ARMA II OA on steam. I want to run DayZ through six updater.

Do I need to do this?:

DAYZ INSTALL TOOL

This program will automatically download and install the latest version of DayZ Mod for you. You don't have to copy or extract anything.

1) Download the Updater from http://www.worrom.com/

2) Point at at your Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead folder.

3) Go to Steam and right click Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead, go to 'Properties', 'Set Launch Options', add "-mod=@dayz -nosplash" without quotes in the target line. If you are using retail go to the Arma2:OA main directory and right-click on "Arma2OA.exe" and add "-mod=@dayz -nosplash" without quotes to the target line.

To make it less complicated,download DayZcommander....I use it Because i can't run Sixupdater cuz of the damn .net framework!

P.S.

Nobody uses Sixupdater anymore...well i guess some ppl do but i don't cuz of the .net framework problem so try the DayZcommander it's easy and simple!

Well thats great there is no tutorial on dayZ commander on the fourms, doubt a updated one would be on utube. Someone give me a step by step on how to install it? plz? From the start ( which means from dwonlaoding the game to installing dayZ commander. thanks.

The new Play withSIX is recommended indeed, not the old SIX Updater.

It's easy and simple.

Thats an interesting assessment btw. For starters both applications use the Microsoft .NET framework 4, so either both apps should work, or neither would.

Unless the .NET framework on your system is corrupt, and we rely on such file while the other tool does not.

Yes, not to be rude but you asked for SIX software assistance, and I replied as the first person, so obviously its not about the other tool that was discussed later.

Play withSIX is the official replacement to SIX Launcher and Updater, and is the recommended installation method.

(Im not sure where you got the old guides from that you linked in the first post btw, they appear quite old and definitely wasn't the recommended way to install it :))

here is the tutorial!

-click the download button on top of the screen then after that it should descend you down a bit,,. in the lower right corner (not exactly in the corner near it) there should be a "Get DayZ commander" button click it and download it! and then install it (should be pretty easy). and then go to step 3. and continue.

3. Run DayZCommander and click the "versions" button from the top menu.

4. Click "Install latest revision" under Arma2 OA. Wait for the download and install to complete.

5. Click "Install latest version" under DayZ. Wait for the download and install to complete.

6. Press "Done" to close the versions panel.

7. Double-click any listed server to play.

Have FUN! :)

Including contacting us with the details to try and figure out whats up?

The event log usually contains more info that could help narrow down the issue and solve it in the system or the software.

Define 'Everything' :)

Did you try PwS, or left it with SU/SL?
