FoeHammer (DayZ) 0 Posted May 5, 2012 Well, I can only play the mod for about 5 minutes before my screen starts glitching out/artifacting to the point where I cant see, then my game crashes with a .NET Framework error message. (This also crashes every other program on my PC that uses .net). After this my ArmA won't even start because the .exe crashes as soon as it loads. Here is an error I'm getting in event viewer: Log Name: ApplicationSource: Application ErrorDate: 5/5/2012 4:28:04 PMEvent ID: 1000Task Category: (100)Level: ErrorKeywords: ClassicUser: N/AComputer: Jack-PCDescription:Faulting application name: arma2oa.exe, version: 1.60.87.580, time stamp: 0x4ef2c80bFaulting module name: atiumdag.dll, version: 7.14.10.903, time stamp: 0x4f7e480dException code: 0xc0000005Fault offset: 0x003470c0Faulting process id: 0xfc0Faulting application start time: 0x01cd2afd89cc2ba0Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\arma2oa.exeFaulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\atiumdag.dllReport Id: d0c6abc0-96f0-11e1-a791-6c626db3033fEvent Xml: 1000 2 100 0x80000000000000 19346 Application Jack-PC arma2oa.exe 1.60.87.580 4ef2c80b atiumdag.dll 7.14.10.903 4f7e480d c0000005 003470c0 fc0 01cd2afd89cc2ba0 C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\arma2oa.exe C:\Windows\system32\atiumdag.dll d0c6abc0-96f0-11e1-a791-6c626db3033f It seems that the problem is this atiumdag.dll. I googled it and got nowhere. I reinstalled my Graphic drivers and .net, still nothing. Does anyone have any clue what is wrong?
nighthawk7000 4 Posted May 6, 2012 This sounds like a classic gpu issue...artifacts on your screen can mean over heating or other issues, and the atiumdag.dll is probably a wrapper for your graphics driver (I'm assuming, as I'm more familiar with nVidia's infrastructure than ATI's, which I am also assuming you're using).I find it strange that you get a .NET error...wasn't aware that ArmA 2 was using any of the .NET frameworks...I'll look into this a bit more and let you know if I find anything.Ok - quick update:So it's definitely your GPU driver. A little snippet from your error log:Faulting module name: atiumdag.dll, version: 7.14.10.903, time stamp: 0x4f7e480dException code: 0xc0000005Fault offset: 0x003470c0*****The faulting module was the ATI driver wrapper. The exception code is an access violation (Unix/Linux users know this as a SEG_FAULT) - either program error, or something is fucked in your system. As for the Fault Offset -- this will give you where in the .dll the error occoured, but since I don't have the .dll, I can't disassemble it and give you any more insight. Long story short -- Somewhere along the line your graphics drivers got really screwed and you didn't reinstall them properly (although it sounds like you know what you're doing), or two -- your GPU is about to die.I hope this helps! litoralis.nMd 1 Posted May 6, 2012 Download newest Nvidia drivers for your card. (You might have the installer on hand already.Try using Drive Sweeper to completely remove your NVidia graphics drivers.http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/Then go to Device Manager and uninstall any remaining "generic VGA" "generic HDMI" etc video adapters also.Reboot.Reinstall your NVidia drivers. I really don't think I messed up the installation of the drivers as everything went normal, but I'll uninstall and reinstall them. And this helps a bunch, thank you very much.
