Just some friendly advice for the group wearing the -gay- clan tags, should we cross paths again.

Don't open fire on me. No really, the two of you that died would still be alive and the third guy, the one who combat logged, could have retained a shred of dignity. Dying for a stranded bus, particularly one that I had no desire to steal, seems like a bad trade.

The events from my perspective:

I was on my way over to Stary Sobor in a UAZ along with one other friend, looking to pick up our third member. Somehow he got himself turned around and went west, away from us, so I had to pass up Stary and try to find him along the road at Kabanino. He told us over teamspeak that he found a bus, and he completely freaked out when he realized that you were all there; still, he stayed quiet and lay prone in the grass watching you fiddle with the bus. Apparently your tire was out, because the bus was swerving uselessly back and forth, unable to move forward.

After watching for a few minutes, and noting that you were wearing hero skins, he walked directly away from you and hooked up with the rest of us. Once he informed us that you guys were in a rough spot and needed some tires, and furthermore were fellow heroes.. sure, why not? We approached slowly in the UAZ and had two spare tires in the trunk. When you started honking your bus's horn, I interpreted that as a confirmation that you were stuck there. After all, who draws attention to themselves if they DON'T need help?

So, to the rescue! The problem is, people tend to try and take advantage of my kindness. They do rude things, such as shooting me in the face. When we approached, you may have noticed that we took the roundabout route to reach you and passed around behind the gas station. That's because we were dropping off our pal Chris with his DMR, with explicit instructions to leave giant holes in your heads if any shots are fired. Then we rolled up next to you.

I don't know if your speakers work or not, or if direct comm is broken for you, but everyone else in my group indicates that they could pretty clearly hear me in game when I said "Hey you guys need a hand with that thing?"

I consider the next event to be rather rude. Namely, walking up to my driver's side window and shooting me in the face. I thought I was dead when the hourglass popped up, although it turns out I was simply unconscious on the ground next to the jeep. The guy riding shotgun, however, was equipped with an M249 SAW and was already bailing when you started firing. Opening fire from the other direction with the DMR was my other pal. I felt very little remorse as they gunned you down between them.

Ironically, I survived the gunshot wound and my companions used the blood bags, morphine, and painkillers from your corpses to patch me up. I don't know where the third guy was during the initial shootout, but he started firing at us about two minutes later. Luckily, I was the proud owner of a pair of night vision goggles and the muzzle flare from the gun stuck out like a sore thumb, making it easy to find him after a few minutes. He survived only for two reasons: Firstly, the zombie aggro when we fired back caused all the zombies in town to start chasing us, and thus I could not get an accurate shot. Secondly, you combat logged after we fired a few rounds in your direction and all the -gay- (s) disappeared from the server.

I did take a moment to spit on your bodies, because bandits dressed as heroes make me rather nauseous. We fixed the bus, but when I hopped in the driver seat, the two tires we attached were somehow negated. Perhaps I climbed in too fast and caused it to glitch out. Either way, your bus is still stranded by the side of the road. I hope it explodes on you.

P.S. Thanks for the lovely pair of matching AK Kobras, they will be given to survivors along the coast.

tl;dr - FRIENDLY =/= STUPID. My friends were flanking you in case you tried something stupid, and opening fire on me was your own death warrant. Turn in your hero skins, you don't deserve them.

Not that I am defending the dead, but it only takes one guy to freak out and start shooting and then you got a firefight for no reason.

Dont be fooled by the hero skin, I once saw a hero skin murder 6 people and then me (I was a new spawn, had a macrov and he had an enfield)

I made a heroic attempt to reach the hero bandit and got shot by his friend and another random guy who joined me to take him down (he also had hero skin) then got shot as well, as I went down I saw him get sniped by enfield fake hero :(

One of the reasons I dropped the friendly survivor routine was due to multiple vehicle losses from people I was attempting to save or had already saved. I even changed tactics and would park far away to discourage vehicle theft/destruction and was followed by two in people in a group (which I noticed they were not that sly) I had just helped and were told that under no circumstances were they to follow me out of town. Normally I would have warned them over direct chat but my group had lost two offroad pickups in the last day and over that week three of us had been murdered including myself after, yes after, helping so called friendlies, so on this day I took my first step toward banditry when I ducked behind cover and destroyed these two guys as they came around a corner. Since then I have been a bandit with a conscience if you will, never murder new spawns and try to go after well armed groups that look like they are camping an area.

A note about the skins, they are insanely broken. I can not keep my bandit skin due to the glitch and at this point it is not counting my murders properly either. You will see very few bandits because it requires two kills in quick succession but not back to back, I have even walked around at -1550 humanity with my survivor skin pissed that I did not earn my towel.

After searching for a decent, stable server with functioning vehicles (that are actually on the map instead of outside it) and no hacker incidents (so far), I'd really rather not announce it on the forums now that I've finally found one. It would be filled within the day and my hard earned camp, along with my pickup, my UAZ, and my ATV, would likely be destroyed.

Really enjoyed this, would you mind if I added you on skype? You seem to play almost exactly the same way as me. And you have morals in game, which is rare.

Ha, you changed your avatar Angel and I did not recognize you at first, I would never expect you to change how you play because you are truly the one survivor I have heard who sticks to their code of honor. Usually I just see the hypocritical survivor who still shoots on sight quite often unless it is a certain type of situation, your story about not shooting someone at Stary that killed someone in your group made me want to keep up the good fight a little longer (at least I think it was you). I did not really become jaded, I frankly just got bored and the risk analysis for being a "hero" seemed too great with minimal payoff. I have been playing as a quasi bandit for about three weeks now and have been enjoying my time on the dark side. I am a big believer in trying out all play styles and I think bandit is just my latest kick, but most of my banditry has been reserved for Lingor where you really do not have to feel badly because there is so many military spawn points who cares if I just separated you from an AKM when you will find another within 30 minutes.

Come to think of it I have not been player hunting successfully in Chernarus since making the switch, I went to the NWAF to hunt some players this week and was shot by what I assume was an AS50 TWS since it was night and the guy was way too far to see me with normal optics (I could see him with my legit L85, but it happened so fast and I was moving in trees that it had to be the cheap one). Got extremely lucky and found a Ural when I spawned with gear so just took it out to the woods and made a camp, mostly been playing Lingor for my banditry since it feels less mean.

And this is the difference for me. My preferred payoff is seeing other people enjoy the game more.

I may start a profile named Devil or something and go total psycho/bandit on a lingor server just to see how it feels, but the concept doesn't really appeal to me.

EDIT: Yeah, I changed my avatar during the "Girls who play DayZ" topic, where it was implied that I'm a forum white knight. If the shoe fits, then hey, I'll get a suit of armor and horse to match. It's the sensible thing to do.

edit: i've meant to do this sooner, but it's been a while too but i was once on a server with you and like a bunch of other guys from your CNF or CQNF? Idk, Your clan though when they were mass killed by hackers. We ran to the hills after that and im assuming those same hackers spawned near us on atvs and told us today was the day of our reckoning. Scary stuff, hope you guys rebounded from that and have been relatively hacker free since then.

CNSF is a great clan, but I left it due to work schedule problems. They were always conducting the raids while I was at work. I just play with a handful of friends now, and we have a our own little band of merry men out in the woods.

Excellent story though. It is always refreshing to find out that some players are surviving by forming communities and being willing to help strangers in a spot.

Rather than the skiddies sitting on a hill, or in the top of a hotel and sniping their way to boredom.
