My thoughts on KoS and general PvP

Recommended Posts

So i replied to a topic in the off-topic suggestion about PvP and i wanted to share my thoughts on DayZ's PvP system.

Many players complain about getting killed while offering to help others out, but if a zombie apocalypse happened in real life, would you give a guy the chance to grab his weapon and kill you for your supplies? I certainly wouldn't...

PvP on this game is brilliant. It adds a sense of fear just to bump into another survivor. Not knowing whether they will offer help, or just blow a hole in your chest for your stuff. Also, it gives you a chance to do stuff you wouldn't do in real life. You start to wonder whether who is really your friend and who is the enemy. You get paranoid while walking around, wondering if that bush in the distance is a guy in a ghillie suit watching you, only to have the bush next to it blow your head off...

I agree that KoS is becoming increasingly popular but like i said, if this was real, this would be a life or death situation. Your life, or theirs. Would you rather have the guy kill you later? or kill the bastard and know that you'll be safe for a little longer?

agreed, killing on sight is simply the safest option and the pvp is great.

I normally leave a survivor to their business if he/she hasn't seen me. if i see someone kill an unarmed player. I make sure a bullet goes into their head :)
