Nice to know that 2,000 bans do nothing

i dont understand how this 4 dollar key thing works, are that many people falling victim to spyware/hacks with trojans? or its people who sold their CD key for what, 2 dollars?

anyway the ban did do fuck all. shame because there is literally no other game like this and not even another game unlike it that is worth even pirating

Impossible, since ARMA2 will be a separate game from DayZ. You'd basically have to "require" that people own ARMA2 to play DayZ standalone then so you can make sure their GUID is "okay". If you don't require they own ARMA2, then they just wouldn't volunteer their banned GUID or any GUID at all. Just trying to explain how awkward it would be to try and even translate those bans over.

I'm not sure how much Rocket is going into changing the engine, but I would rather see DayZ go to an account based system vs. registry CD key system. By this, I mean like any MMO where you "open" an account with your CD/Account Key, but then never need the key again. It's now just "your account" that required a key to initially open. This would also solve the problems of multiple people trying to play DayZ using one workstation, and would at least change how abusers compromise accounts from grabbing a registry entry to needing to keylog the persons user/pass. Not fool proof by any means, but at least anti-virus software is more used to scanning for keyloggers given how many people tend to download keyloggers with WoW.

I'm guessing that at least %20 of people who play this game hack.

20% of 1.2 million = 240 000 hackers spread across what? 5000 servers = 48 hackers per server.

2000 or 12000 is almost irrelvant.

Obviously I am not saying that there are 48 hackers in every server but you get the point.

Iv heard that about 60% percent uses hacks, including scripters, but that sounds a little crazy

Quit unrealistic.. when i calculated it (some weeks ago) they were about 7%, it seems they have increased a little recently, but they won't be more than 10% of the total.

Anyway, even with that 10%, due to the nature of this game (permanent world.. death.. whatever...) a single cheater may ruins hours, days (or even weeks) of a user gameplay... so you notice their presence a way more than traditional FPS.

2000 bans just means the hackers need to find a new cd key. They're just encouragement to stop hacking. They could ban every person that ever ran a script, and the next day most of them would have new cd keys and be teleporting everyone again.

Still, I'm glad they ban the hackers, make those fuckers pay and get more money for the developer. I'm just not foolish enough to think any amount of bans will protect me or change the situation in this mod.

Oh hi just an update, No i havent been banned thanks tho.

I played a bit of Lingor island but i just havent been playing as much as i used to just because of the repition. Lingor island is seemed great, i hope when they release stand alone its going to have more than 1 map?

Wow, go away. Why do you think BE cares? They worked their ass off to ban 2k cheaters (which is just HUGE) and now you come here and complain. Most bypasers don't work anymore, so you just had bad luck with those encounters!

also another thing regardings the OP. the bans do nothing because there is a site where u can buy new keys for $3. banning wont do anything

theres are over 1mill unique players that play Dayz alone. ATLEAST 10% of those players hack. do the math, the number of hackers are only growing.

its getting to a point where even server admins are hacking now.

dropping? talk about pulling something out of ur ass.

clearly u do not know how easy it is to do a simple google search of ***s and extract execute a file huh? takes litteraly 5 seconds. before all hacks were private, now most if not all hacks, even the instant kill everyone on server hacks are public.

the only difference now between a public hack and a private hack is that private u spend money and are less likely to be global banned where as public it is free and ur safe from bans from anywhere to 1day to a week (IF your careless)

beleive it or not a few months ago hacks for this game were harder to get because most were private hacks that u had to pay for. now most of them are public as i mentioned already.

According to my calculation, for those 80k, 5000 to 8000 are cheaters (this includes cheaters using active cheats, passive cheats, and scripting). This is due to some public hacks that have been released some time ago. In other words joining any server today, it means you're going to "play" with one or more cheaters. It doesn't mean that you'll necessary interact with em, they'll eventually kill someone else.

what im trying to say is that 2k player base is a stupidly small amount in the grand scheme of things.

The 7-10% i'm referring to is about the ACTIVE players. It means literally this: i've (with the help of other ppl and admins) analyzed the cheater across (about) one month of gameplay, on both hive and not-hive servers (the number of cheaters, whenever ppl thinks differently is almost the same..), and 6% of them were cheating (in different ways). I've then increased the number by 1% because i'm not a wizard and i have missed some cheaters that have cheated without me noticing them.

So the above numbers are real: they doesn't account the "fake" userbase (in example who tried the game for one week then dismissed it..), neither duplicate accounts; it's about the number of cheaters versus who is REALLY playing the game "today" (active userbase). I'm repeating it today, coz the number of cheaters increased because of two factors: public released cheats + ppl getting bored/annoyed; for what i've seen the last week we're around the 10% now.. but it requires time, and i don't have much time (plus i'm playing DayZ a way more less today.. so i can't spend "hours" analyzing data.. neither my friends).

Unless you have different data, the numbers i said above are pretty accurate, and they are more than enough to ruin the whole gameplay.

100k cheaters? Are you stupid? Where do you get that information from? It's around 10 000, nowhere near 100k

TBH I wouldn't be surprised if in the last 3 months there have been close to 100k cheaters. And by cheaters Im referring to any external program that can use scripts, inject anything like ESP/no recoil/no bullet drop or anything blatant like duping yourself multiple times (but not just single item dupes or tent dupes).
