"You cannot play/edit this mission, it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted .chernarus"

Recommended Posts

I've tried every thing to fix this LITTERALLY, I get this message when trying to play a DayZ server

"You cannot play/edit this mission, it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted .chernarus"

I play DayZ on a Laptop, I use ArmaA ll Free, I have bought ArmA ll:OA and i use DayZ Commander and Sixx launcher, I still get that error, I get two other errors when starting up DayZ also.

But its the " You cannot play/edit this misson" Error that is messing up my DayZ, Please, Some one help me.

I use ArmaA ll Free, I have bought ArmA ll:OA

Problem: DayZ not working?

Solution: BUY ARMA II

You have pirated the game, soon you will be globally banded by battle eye like so many have.

Nuff said.

Ok I had this message what I did was install the latest beta patch copy arma2oa.exe from expansions/beta and replace the arma2oa.exe in the main arma 2 operation arrowhead folder.

Then add > -beta=Expansion\beta;ca;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=@DayZ;ca -nosplash < to the launch options in steam.

Also dont forget you needed to run both arma 2 and oa once before attempting to install and run the mod and also have arma 2 fully updated if its not through steam.

Maybe this helps.

Missing Chernarus.pbo is because ARMA2 isn't loaded.

In whatever utility you use, make sure the path to ARMA2 is configured.

Copying beta arma2oa.exe over the official arma2oa exe is generally not recommended (due to future patches etc),

and only useful if you want to launch with the Steam Launcher. At least make a backup before overwriting it :)

Recommended utilities to download and launch the game also take care of the startup parameters, probably more correctly.

I find both the launcher programs "fluff" to be honest, I just copy and paste the extracted mod files to the right directory and install the beta patch and then what I stated in my previous post and the mod works just great. Couldnt be simpler no need to install random programs to do that for you.

edit : Yea I should of mentioned thats launching with steam.

You can not play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.cherarus

Make sure you launch the game as 'Combined Operations' and NOT 'Operation Arrowhead' if and when launching from STEAM.

"You cannot play/edit this mission, it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted .chernarus"

It simply means that somewhere along the line your Arma 2 got corrupted. In steam Right click Arma 2, Go to properties, Go to Local Files Tab, Then Verify the cache.

Once done, open up arma 2 to the main menu ( double check the game version is correct ) then close it.

Then open you can then open DayZ Commander and play your game :D

FIXED :D

I have the exact same error now. I wish I knew what steps 5-9 were so I could play again.

I suggest making sure everything is up to date, possible use DayZ Commander??? Makes life alot easier when it comes to updating your game.

Then Follow my post as Above. And you should be alright.

Amongst an ocean of spurious online advice about this, including badly made youtube help videos and people insisting a complete reinstall of Arma 2 was needed, Sugar_Aussie's advice worked just fine for me. (for clarity, yes I use steam, and once having followed his advice I then launched with PlaywithSIX)

So I created this profile just to say thanks. Great when you find someone who knows what they're talking about, is also succinct, and saves you pulling any more of your hair out. Mad Props to the antipodean.
