Just picked up a FN FAL

I just picked up an FN Fal from a guy who spawned in Stary Sober; however, he was not moving and could not be killed. My friend unloaded about 6 M16 shots into the guy and he didn't move. When we walked up to him because we noticed he had a gun we had not seen before...it turned out to be an FN FAL...so I took it. Anyway, I thought the heli crash sites were bugged and you could not get this type of loot. Are the heli crash sites fixed? Where would I find ammo for this gun?

They are no longer bugged. Found a crash site with a box of stanag and stanag SD.

Well it came with one mag. And I believe that if you log off with at least one round in the mag, when you login again, your mag will be full. So I should technically never run out of ammo for it if I only use it in dire situations. But, I'm sure i'll unload it into a zombie sooner or later. But at least, it will be fun while it lasts.

I used to think that too.

I think what it does is reload any remaining shots you have into the main magazine, at the cost of the other mags.

So let's say you have 20 bullets loaded and 3 mags (60 more bullets).

You shoot 10.

You re-log.

It'll have 20 shots in that magazine, but now you only have 2 full mags and 1 mag with 10/20 bullets.

Also, sometimes when you have all full mags and shoot your weapon to less than half, all round may go away and you lose that mag.

I have a silenced m4 with one stanag sd mag, I killed 2 zombies with it, had 28 shots left, when I came back to play later on I had a full mag, I had no idea that glitch existed, still, i'd be happier if I found more mags, it has become nearly impossible to find a freaking stanag mag for me, and I was in NW airfield! I even found a Coyote pack, and NO STANAG!!!!

That's weird, i thought it didn't reload if it was the last magazine... Are you sure you had only 1 left or 1 loaded and 1 spare? As in 30 | 1 in the corner.

I know a place full of STANAG mags, check the military barracks near Balota.

No other mags, I even found the rifle with no mags, found the mag in a hangar.

One thing i happens is, when you have a weapon, zombies (at least military ones) start dropping mags for that weapon randomly when killed.

Either that, or i've just been very lucky.

Got a MP5, killed some zombies, one had a MP5 Mag.

Same with a DMR and later on a Glock.

Yup chopper loot is fixed (somewhat) I found/came across 3 choppers last night 1 would not spawn loot, another was spawning stuff like crazy(DMRs etc...) and another only spawned a 50cal and nothing else...

I found a FAL in a Stary tent though also so dont believe they are chopper only.

I've had the respawning ammo happen with my M9SD on several occasions.
