Died as sson as joining the server

Date/Time: 12th of June of 2012

What happened: Basically I joined the US 47 server, and as soon as I was done loading my character fell inside the ground near a pine tree. After 2-3 seconds of free falling my character just crashed on the ground above him (what?) and died of shock and broken bones, I guess.

Where you were: On the woods west of Pustoshka

What you were doing: I was prone near a pine, server hopping to find an afternoon/almost night time server.

Current installed version: 1.7.0

Server(s) you were on: US 47 is the one where I died. I joined US17, I think, to check if my character per chance was alive on the hive. I wasn't so I return to find my body on US47, and as soon as I try to get my location from my surroundings I realize I can't even use flares/switch weapons. I could shoot fine with the makarov too, but after that I couldn't reload it.

Your system specs: Core 2 Quad 9400, ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe, 4GB DDR3, ATI RADEON HD4850 1GB DDR3.

Timeline of events before/after error: Can't remember the exact order, but I joined several servers trying to find an afternoon/almost night time one, the event ocurred as soon as I was on control of my character on US 47, and after that I quit and joined US17 to check if I was still alive on other servers. Turns out I wasn't so I tried to go back to US 47 and find my body, which I wasn't able to do because everything was pitch black and couldn't get my location without the use of flares.

Is it possible to recover my character given it was caused by a bug or should I go all "bother this nonsense" and start looking for things again since this is an alpha and bugs are expected?.
