justin@bukkithost.com 0 Posted September 9, 2012 Hello,So a couple months ago (before hacking was such a big problem like it is now), I got curious and decided to try out some scripts.I don't tend to think of myself as an asshole, so all I did was spawn a couple weapons, and kept to myself. Basically I was trying to keep what I was doing from affecting anyone else.Shortly later I was banned, and I accepted it because I know what I did was wrong.Long story short, I hacked, got banned, and accepted the punishment.Lately I've had the urge to play Dayz again, and I'd like to get back into it. I just have one question about how.. I've looked around and seen that you can get around a global ban by purchasing a new key, which is where my question lies.I originally bought Combined Operations on Steam. I've done some looking around, and everyone says it's only the OA key that matters, so I bought a new (non steam) OA key directly from BI. I'm currently in the painfully long process of redownloading the game so I can use my new key, etc.So basically my question is this: Will I be able to play again using my steam version of Arma 2, and my BI version of OA? Again, I was globally banned, so that's my concern.I'm expecting a shitstorm for admitting what I did, and expecting help for it, but I hope some of you are kind enough to help. After all, I'm only human, and we make mistakes. I've definitely learned my lesson.P.S: To anyone who's considering hacking, don't. It's really not that much fun, and it's not worth having to purchase the game again when you're banned.P.P.S Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Completely unsure of it, I know though that characters are tied to keys and that's what(I think) gets banned. Atlas. 0 Posted September 10, 2012 (edited) Ive had the same Semi issue as him, i didnt get curious tho, i got tired, after surviving for 11 dayz with my friend, building a Ural and Loading it,a Hacker Mortared me in the Ural when i was gunna pick him up from a fuel run and he got fully auto As50'ed or something, Me being pissed and all, Youtubed it, (idle'd in server) used Cheat engine, and scripted, just so i could atleast fight back or something, respawn my exact gear, i know its my fault i got banned but, i''ve played legit every day of my life on this game except for the five minutes i hacked, am i really condemed to WarZ after Loving this Mod so much, Completely my fault, My Morals in my opinion had nothing to do with this, i think of myself as a vigilante, going against the law to protect it. i just wanna play again, so my question is, is it safe to re buy (on another steam account) Arma 2 and OA, you know what, i even bought PMC just for the skins, i had no intention of being banned, so Yeah, if i re buy them and re install will i still be Global banned? or is my whole computer compromised...Inb4namecalling Edited September 10, 2012 by Squishyy Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
ninjaontour 123 Posted September 10, 2012 Whilst I know some people are of the mindset "once a cheater, always a cheater" and will flat out refuse to assist you because of it, I see no harm in telling you the truth.BattlEye bans your ID, which is tied to your Steam account. It doesn't distinguish based on IP address or anything like that. Using a different key will solve the problem. The bottom line is that people who have hacked are getting banned, and BattlEye will continue to do it. I know that people here will continue to yap about getting killed by hackers every ten minutes, but that's just bull.There's an awful lot of rage infused hyperbole bandied about these forums, just make sure you don't act the prick again and try "new scripts". CM LEGION 29 Posted September 10, 2012 You could do what i did, uninstall the original arma on steam, make a new steam account, and use those fast cash codes that you buy at stores to get back in.
