Free weekend hax or am I missing something?

Hi, just wanted to share what I just experienced. Haven't been playing for 4 days and didn't know that Dayz is in such a bad time.

Joined server with 40 players and immediately saw posts about cheater who teleporting himself close to players and killing them. I have disconnected.

Joined another server with less players (I think there was 20 or so players) to avoid cheaters and after 10 min playing, players started to die and reported teleporting cheater. So I disconnected.

Joined server with 9 players and after I joined I have asked if the experienced any cheat on this server. The answer was no, but I had my eyes opened which paid back. I was in middle of nowhere (between Prison and San Isabel) checking my map next to the bush and crouched and suddenly some one spawned like 20 meters to my right side. I'm not sure if that was coincidence and that player was legit but I could not take the risk and dropped him down. He was looking like he was looking for me but probably couldn't see me because of Gilly suit I was wearing. He had m4 SD ,NVG, rangefinders .... I didn't have nothing unusual except m9 SD which is the probably thing which cheater wanted ... if that was a cheater.

What do you think was that a cheater or legit player who just happened to spawn there?

He might've signed in there and didn't see you. If he spawned, didn't fire, didn't say anything directly to you, and went about his business then I would say that it was just some poor soul in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm assuming you killed him because you knew what he had on him? Poor bastard.

A cheater can just spawn in what they want. Why would they kill you for a silenced pistol?

the m4 sd is a generically scripted weapon, so I'd say evident scripter is evident.

It wasn't a hacker.. If it was you would have probably died or he wouldn't have died. Probably someone loaded in or a random ran there, maybe appeared from desync. I'd like to think a hacker that can teleport around can see people on the map, right? Also kind of a doubt a hacker wanted your M9SD.. Most can spawn in items.

When you say people are dying and reporting teleporter, how did this happen? If you are alive you cannot hear the dead player's global chat and there is no way to communicate across the server. Direct chat and direct text is only visible in a very small area.

If this capability was turned on then you are probably playing on non-official non-hive servers. Those will be a problem and hackers not wanting to be banned will gravitate to those.

No, I haven't seen what he got ... there was no time for me to check what he was holding. If that player would be just running around I wouldn't shoot him, but spawned very close to me and looking for something.

I play on Lingor Vilayer hive. When I joined people were talking about a cheater on a server, so probably they were killed and spawned and then said that.

I just saw on the server massage from Battleye that they banned over 2000 players and all is legit .... that's good news right? Since servers updated today to the new battleeye update I have been playing for 2 hours and didn't encounter any teleporting cheater. So maybe it worked.

I don't think Lingor is supported by Dayz developers but Battleye is running on the servers.

In one bizarre server I saw what I think looked like an enormous wildfire with multiple crashed helicopters. Then I saw helicopters suddenly appear and then explode with zombies appearing then instantly dying around it. Haven't been playing long, but is that hacking or admins having fun..?

Not all hackers use godmode. Generally I think it's because they don't expect to be seen by the time they teleport to somebody and get the drop on them. I had a guy teleport everybody above the air and honestly I was in an ammo crate that I found( assuming his), and i was trying to load up and all I had was a mod mk...Well it served me well because I somehow survived the fall and killed the hacker. Another guy was next to me who also survived. Healed him up and d/c'ed before the hacker spawned back in. I guess that is what I get for having my leg broken so many times from doors,stairs, and just running into friends I was playing with,

So the M4 SD I looted in the barracks makes me a scripter now? K, now I understand. I know you're trying to say that most hackers give this particular item to themselves via addItems commands or by placing a box and taking it, but I think it's just due to the popularity of the weapon, and the fact it's still decently powerful while being very quiet.
