Day Z skills and social recognition. Dave the Dentist pays a call.

Watching Rockets "Dog" promo on IGM, It was cool to hear some of the ideas he discussed about the direction skill acquisition may take, with the options for progressive skill acquisition and the social consequences of gaining / losing a reputation for proficiency.

To me a good example could be "Dentist" let’s face it the Day Z diet is mental, a combination of cooked game, and tined sardines, pasts, or beans. Ok no chocolate though I personally would kill for it, just the ubiquitous tooth rotting soft drinks.

If you have ever seen Tom Hanks smash out one of his own infected teeth ( Cast Away) with the end of an ice skate you can grasp the possibilities of having access to someone with both the equipment and acquired skill to help a survivor.

The pain dynamic could just be a simple spasmodic but intense application of the health function for hunger and thirst applied for increasing lengths of time.

First rung of the ladder, Tool Box (pliers), extract own tooth. (Painfully)

Blood Loss 1/3 high chance of blackout, continuing loss of blood until bandaged. Nice.
