The Saddest Death in DayZ History

I was on my way to Stary Sober with a Revolver and Winchester, with nothing but a Coyote Patrol on my back. Pretty basic gear, and I was looking for something more so I could head up North. This would be my "good" life. I will live longer then 3 days this time. I will not reveal my location on sidechat and lose my AK-74 Kobra this time. This time, I will be professional.

While walking, my dreadful but unfixable glitch happened. My screen disappeared into the taskbar. I could hear the game and use the controls, but I couldn't see anything but my desktop background. "Dammit" I cursed, and hit Alt + F4. Hopefully the game hasn't remedied this yet.

I logged back on, but the server had banned me for "hitting Alt F4 like a coward" and I was booted out. So I head to low population server with good ping, so I don't get blasted by bandits at the military camp. I log in. My screen is glitching out, I figured because of how I shut off the game, so I turn on VSync expecting that to remedy the problem. It sort of did, but not really.

I entered the camp, met nobody. Threw a smoke grenade to the hills, and the 60% of the zeds charged at it. Beautiful. I looked through the tents, finding the first AR-15 I had seen in this game. All the weapons I had found beforehand were AK-74's, AKM's, M1014's, even a DMR. Here on the ground was a shiny M4A1 CCO, and I pick it up and take the STANAGs from my backpack. I smiled.

I continued on my way. My screen froze for a second, and I heard a noise like BRRRZZZT (sort of like a GAU/8). Then it unfroze, and nothing had seemed to happen. Went to another tent, found an M9 SD. I'm having a great day! Pressed G to bring up my inventory, only to find that all the text was a purple block that was unreadable. Huh? I hit ESC, to see that the main menu. I need to turn off VSync or something. But of course, all the options were purple blocks. Which is the Options button again? Oh ya, the middle button, I'll hit that one.

"You have died. You will respawn in 5... 4... 3..."

I stepped on a rock that violently ate me and made my body unlootable, causing me to lose the only NVGs I ever found.

I've had a falling 2ft death before, but this made me crylaugh even harder.

I died and lost very good items, because I clicked my left mouse button exactly 1 inch from the correct option, and lost the best loot I had ever found.

I was in the middle of a town looking for beans, fully geared up with a Mk 48, NVG's and M9SD. I logged off for a few minutes to attend to IRL matters, when I logged back in I was unconscious with a REALLY long timer, a survivor came across my body and looted my bag, then when he realised I was still alive he shot me in the face.

I logged just to find myself unconscious. The waiting time was very long. When I was almost ready a player pops up and start looting me. I wake up. Try to do ANYTHING but I just couldn't even move. He start shooting me. Unconscious again, loosing blood.

Then I wake up again! He shoot me again, I die.

10 sec later in the sidechat "LOL a dead person just woke up"...

I fell a good 7 ft without dying or even breaking legs once, when I dropped out of the top window in the Otmel boathouse, and another time I jumped off the hospital roof onto the top of a wall and then down to the ground without dying or breaking legs, but I guess I was just lucky :)

Me and my friend where trying to shoot this one zombie in between us, and we ended up hitting eachother. Due to lack of band aids we bled out and lost all our gear. (NVG, maps, matchs, DMR, M16 acog)

The saddest death in the history of me was one time me and my other 3 freinds were at the northwest airport with the best gear evar. The server was pitch black and there was only 2 other people on it. Me and my freinds (we happened to all have ghillie suits) proned in the grass while one of them checked their map, and all of a sudden out of nowhere at all its just like boom boom boom boom and we were all dead :(. It just so happens that 1 of the 2 or both other players just had to be at the airport with some sort of super night vision to be able to see us in our ghillie suits... not only were we in the grass but we were proned and not even moving...

Another good one was when i was proning in a house and all of a sudden i like fell through the side at 12k blood and died straight away...

I just got thrown up a thousand feet in the air by a hacker with everybody else on the server and watched the text of "So-and-so has been killed" scroll across the side of the screen.

No I had the saddest death I was walking on the outskirts of electro way far away on the farthest pier when suddenly WHAM I fell down dead. No shots fired, No explosions, no sound at all. Just dead plain old fall over dead. Musta had a stroke or something.

most people here love to talk about there farts. I think u explained a problem u had. I read about 20 diarrhea piles.

well i could tell u about a game i had (it was the best)

but when u get that crash to desk top but can hear game sounds despite alt tab using bring to front etc.

Click game - u will hear sounds

hold right shift and numpad - (u can let go)

then type "flush" (this will clear vram game is using)

will see game come back with a loading screen and hey presto game is back.

This works when u get a crash to desk top but only if the game is running still. u can hear, you can hear u shoot etc. make sure u select the game ie u can hear it when u do the above.
