In response to 1.7.1 and Zed Buffs..

Im glad they no longer can attack or see through walls. However what concerns me is the following.

* [NEW] Infected visibility increased (but limited by LOS)

* [NEW] Infected attack range increased (but limited by LOS)

* [NEW] Infected can cause greater damage when they hit you

I already bleed on first hit(95%) of the time, and lose at the very least 2k blood. Is there anything that can be down about this? Is "bleeding immediately" an ArmA shortcoming, or is it something in DayZs coding?

Am i the only one that feels the auto bleeding on first hit AND this new increased LOS and Damage is a bad combo?

i agree sheepdawg. i feel like everytime a zombie hits me the FIRST time i start bleeding, and by the time i finally get to bandage myself (running, shooting more zeds.. ect) i've already lost 2k+ blood. i don't mind the increased damage on an actual hit, but it needs to be harder to start bleeding so easily and so fast.

Not all of us have friends into PC gaming, and even if we do, most of them don't play military simulations. I like DayZ for it's brutal lack of forgiveness and sense of danger, but how hard can they make playing solo be?

I'm good with the greater damage thing, and glad they don't clip through walls. Not a fan of increased attack range and visibility (they are partially blind by nature). They use hands to attack, and they already hit you at 3 times their arms reach.

Why? As it is zeds are a minor inconvenience, at most. They arnt dangerous unless youre trying to be killed by them, and even then you need to be hit ~120 times to be killed (100 blood damage a hit from zeds). I personally think they ought to hit closer to 1k blood and a 50% chance to cause bleeding.

They also won't aggro on you unless they physically see you (as in, their eyes intersect your model), no more circle of aggro, if you are quiet enough you will be able to walk right behind one as long as he doesn't turn. You can also hide from them after you aggro them, these changes mean that they need something to compensate, therefore increased line of sight (repeat: No circle, instead, cone in front) and damage (You can get away from them now).

I for one welcome our new zombie overlords.

I hope they get harder to deal with. I liked how it was before 1.6, when you'd be fighting wave after wave of zombie for 30 minutes before you'd find a clearing to escape the room you've barricaded yourself in.

im glad we can escape them easer now, i only out ran a hoard once by going up the side of a mountan and one still followed me had to dc to escape(had no ammo left after one argoed me through a building and the only gun i had ammo for was a cz also how i got that group of zeds after me)spent 8 or so minnutes running up and down every hill in the area but could not loose him
