Chenarus, just Chapter 1.

Recommended Posts

Hey Survivors and Bandits,

I was just thinking that maybe Chenarus could just be one province in the world of DayZ.

I've run the entire length of Chenarus, from NW Airfield, to North East Airfield, Guba Bay, Cherno, Elektro, Msta, Stary Sobor. I don't think there is a single area of Chenarus that I haven't been to now.

But I can't help but feel smothered.

I can understand some peoples immediate objections. 225km2 is a huge space but, I am not the best or most seasoned DayZ player and yet Chenarus doesn't seem big enough.

I can't seem to hide a camp or vehicle without it being found. I can't seem to build a hq in DayZ because everyone knows where everything is.

I would like to suggest that maybe Chenarus be just one map of DayZ amongst a handful. Chenarus has been walked by everyone dozens of times. No where seems to be fresh or undiscovered; which is something you would expect from a post apocalyptic wasteland.

Perhaps Rocket's team could design other maps that connect to Chenarus and divide them with loading zones.

I don't want to seem ungreatful for the size of DayZ, I just would like to see actual colonies starting emerge from DayZ; different societies of survivors and perhaps just maybe somewhere that you can call home. Perhaps a place worth defending?

I just want to see DayZ keep evolving from and carrying on with the same raw survival experience it started with.

Try Lingor maybe?

I think I will, thanks for the suggestion.

From what I understand, Lingor is more combat based; in your face sort of experience?

DRH said Chernarus took a team of BIS engineers 2 YEARS to finish.

They do have 2 new worlds for the Czech Army addon, no idea of their size though - Bystrica and Bukovina.

At some point maybe DRH will be allowed to appropriate these worlds for use in DayZ ?
