Can i launch operation arrowhead and play dayz?

I was just wondering if instead of going to steam and clicking operation arrowhead and then launch combined ops could i just launch operation arrowhead from my desktop and still play dayz?

Yes you can, although you will need to launch the beta patch .exe file from your bohemia folder. I use this all the time and just use six to update. You can also make your own custom .exe with six updater.
