Found map with a cross (handwriten) on a certain place.

Does anyone experienced this? Is this a place too find special gear or something? Can somebody mark a map and leave it for somebody to find?

Most people place them so other players walk along to check it out, then they kill them once they see them.

Its either a bandit setting a trap or a friendly helping out.

Some server have a option that enables other players to see other players markings.

Usually they are bandit traps but sometimes just friendly players notes.

Seen some funny ones too: "not a trap" "free beanz" etc.

Sometimes when I'm setting up a small medical station; I'll mark the building I'm in so people know where I'm operating. This usually results in me getting into firefights with bandits who descend on my location.
