Beta patch doesn't work , at all

Ive installed the beta patch , uninstalled, followed guides on shortcuts bla bla.

the fact is : when i run the arma2 bta patch shortcut i see the thing with the ticks in the boxes and then nothing. The beta patch/game doesn't start. Ive tried copy and pasting the exe from the expansion folder into the main arrowhead one and that doesn't work either.

I think it may be because i cannot run CO from steam , i use a program called arma2launcher to create a shortcut for CO and dayz and it runs fine but when i right click and select run combined ops on steam then this pops up for half a second then nothing happens.

i think i may have got it working with this
