I find that the ArmA II armory challenges are also an extremely effective tool for weapon familiarization. They give you weapon related objectives to complete, and most of them put you up against active, armed AI.

Agreed, the arma2 armory is good to practice chopper skills so you dont trash that chopper you just spent 2 hours repairing on landing :P
