10+ hrs can still NOT get DayZ to run

So far I have spent 10+ hours of my life attempting to play this game on the server my friends play on. I have read every single help/support thread out there, I have tried all the fixes, hacks, tricks, etc. I have reinstalled the game and done it all again. I am so incredibly frustrated with this game I am ready to call it quits and not play with my friends.

I am posting this as a last effort. I will list all the things I've tried in the order I tried them and maybe someone here can offer me some advice?

Goal: Play on private server that my friends are on

Steps taken:

1) Download Arma 2, Arma 2 Op Arrow. through steam

2) Run Arma 2 normally via steam to complete installation

3) Run Arma 2: Combined Operations via steam to complete installation

4) Update Arma 2 Op Arrow to latest beta via http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php (96751)

5) Install dayZ 1.7.2.5 (Server is still running this version) -I have done this step in the following ways:

--Created @DayZ dir and placed files in directly from torrent

--Installed via DayZ Commander

--Attempted Play WithSix but this will only allow latest version to be installed

--Modify _runA2CO_beta.cmd with the following run line:

call "%_ARMA2OAPATH%\Expansion\beta\ARMA2OA.exe" -nopause -skipIntro -nosplash "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca;@dayz" "-mod=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion" -window -cpuCount=2 -exThreads=7 %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9

Here are my current issues:

1) Before I update Arma 2 CO to the latest beta I can see the private server in the main server list (obviously can not play though), After beta update I can no longer see it in the main server list

2) I add IP and port via Remote button, I am able to enter server password and it attempts to connect. I see this Error: "'You cannot play/edit this mission, it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.dayz_code, dayz_weapons, dayz_equip etc.'upon joining any DayZ server", I know all the guides say that this is due to incorrect DayZ installation however I have followed every direction of multiple installation forms to the T. I don't understand how to fix this if it is a major issue?

3) After seeing the error message I am booted from the lobby with no reason/message and returned to the main server list. The wiki's say this is due to battleeye, I have properly reinstalled this via steam on both Arma 2 and Arma 2 Op Arrow. This does not change anything

Note: This happens on any server i attempt to join, not just the private server.

Any help anyone could provide me would be most appreciated as I am simply out of ideas and frustrated beyond belief.

Make sure the dayz files are in /@Dayz/addons

I had similar frustrations at first...THEN...I searched and found http://www.dayzcommander.com/ . I simply run the install from their interface and it works like a dream.

Tried this as well, step by step. Still same issue.

Right. Here's how I tell people who ask me, how to get DayZ working.

1) Download Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA.

2) Run Arma 2 then close it

3) Run Arma 2 CO then close it.

4) Download DayZ Commander and run it.

5) Click " Settings " in DayZCommander

6) Tick the following boxes: " Launch using STEAM " and " Replace original Arma2OA files with Beta so Steam works " Click Done

7) Click Install / Update:

7a) Where it says " ARMA2: xxxxx " Click the " Update / install / reinstall " button at the side of where it says " 96548/85 " wait for the BETA installer to launch and install it.

7b) Where it says " DayZ: xxxx " click the " Update / install / reinstall " on where it says 1.7.2.6 ( it will be 1.7.2.5 in your case ) and wait for that to download and install.

10) Go to this and copy and paste the downloaded .dll to " C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\BattlEye " and replace the one that was in there. Then go to " C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye " and do the same.

11) Click Favourites in DayZCommander and add IP and connect.

As you've edited the CMD file. I would suggest deleting anything you've edited and get STEAM to " Verify integrity of game cache " to redownload everything non edited.

If that doesn't work, comment back.
