Potential Bleeding Solutions!

Recommended Posts

To quote from an out of place post in the 1.7.2.6 Rolling Update thread:

As for the blood. 9 out of 10 bleeding's you won't realize in 1st person. And DrWho got a point, because he might be playing only on hardcore servers with 3rd person disabled. Like me sometimes. I find it more realistic and people can't look behind walls and corners while leaned to a side and glitching with their head through the wall. That's ridiculous. I agree there on the "I'm fucking bleeding" hint LOL

Peace.

My two cents:

How about the voice clips of the character wincing in pain when you're walking or performing actions (audio cues) to suggest that the character has wounds?

Or/and an ability to check for wounds after a gunfight/zombie encounter - character in first person then identifies wounds and winces in pain?

The second suggestion would go hand in hand with something like this. Man I would love this kind of detail on the blood in DayZ, I know Bohemia's game engine isn't as flexible as Phoenix (overgrowth's engine) but please guys, would be insanely cool to shoot a zombie/player and see them dripping with blood.

well i personally dont like the current blood mechanics, because there is too much bleeding.

if you ever had a bleeding, you might not always feel blood on your skin, but you will feel pain that comes from a wound, and you will check it and will see bleeding. so unless there is an option to check body for wound and see bleeding, a bleeding indicator that screams if you have bleeding, should be.

how about checking your debug monitor?

Debug monitor is to be phased out if you didn't already know, Rocket and the Dev team are trying to find other ways to indicate things rather than having a UI for everything. (also if you haven't realised, the debug monitor is now broken haha)

Yeah, I mean a fountain of blood isn't exactly ideal for a game with such immersion! That's why I think, when you get hurt/are injured, the character should wince in pain, nudging you to check for wounds! Checking for wounds could also automatically apply bandages if wounds are seen?

character will scream in pain even if wound doesnt bleed(if screaming is event implemented in this case), so its not an option.

aoutobandaging if bleeding was found is rather bad idea, because some wounds that bleed arernt lethal(at least in real life...) and doesnt cost bandage to use.

True, but I mean to have the character not actually screaming but sort of "sssssss", "ahhhhh" kinda sounds like when something really hurts :).

I realise not all wounds are lethal but as anyone with wilderness experience knows, almost any open wounds can kill you if they are not tended to/no bathing options are available.

Besides, i'm meaning simply for the player's sake, only lethal wounds should need any attention, non-lethal wounds shouldn't need to be rendered/tended to (other than broken/fractured bones of course).
