Ways to help fix glitches.

Recommended Posts

Okay first off before you scream

"UHH IT ALPHA SO IT BE OKAYZ"

or "ITS A MOD SO STFU"

Read the freaking thing first.

I play a TON of mods. Lots of them. Some of them in indev. NONE OF THEM have as much game breaking glitches as dayz. you could argue dayz's excuse is that the mod is almost as big as a totally new game. True dayz is a huge mod so there are going to be huge bugs. And yes we all know its in alpha. You are bluffing if you dare say glitches haven't killed you. Even if it wasn't the glitch itself but a glitch made you're legs break and then you got stomped on by Z's.

In the standalone this should all be gone. But my suggestion is to leave dayz where it is and fix the bugs. You can add all the new things in the standalone. This means that dayz will be done quicker since you are just bug fixing and you will get to work on standalone more. BTW I love dayz. But when my uaz got stuck on a small rock on the road *i managed to get to free* and then blows up 30 seconds later killing me and my loot. How can I not want these glitches gone.

If you disagree with me or see a way to improve this then say it. But be civil. No "I disagree. You do not agree with me. You are a f*g because you do not agree. Go die."

Also no blaming the arma engine. It works fine when I play arma.

I disagree. But I completely understand how you feel about the situation. The way I see it is that it is a free alpha mod that I choose to play and still enjoy despite the problems, and am perfectly happy with the experience I have, while the glitches are annoying, I feel like they are not game breaking, and when I can close a door on myself, break my legs, and get stomped by Z's, I don't really lose my head when I get killed by or as the result of a glitch, it's not worth caring when the rest of the awesome experience is free. I hope they fix all of the problems for the standalone, but I don't mind playing with issues in the alpha, even if there were no upcoming standalone and they never fixed the issues with the alpha I wouldn't mind, because its still pretty amazing, for free.

ALSO ADD A WAY TO EDIT THE TITLE. Oh god people are going to rage at me now. I wanted it to be "Ways help fix glitches" but I forgot to change it.

Problem Fixed for you:

try opening the edit menu then go on "Use Full Editor"

there you can change the Topic name

Option 1 - Leave the game until a stable stand alone release is available

Option 2 - Persevere with it, feeding back details of instances or cases where you encounter problems, bugs, glitchers, cheats etc.O

Option 3 (the most common): Cry and moan about it on the forum, clogging it up with yet another rage/whine/waaambulance topic that has bean discussed to death a million times over.

Which one do you think you have chosen?

topic that has bean discussed to death a million times over.

Did you purposefully write 'has bean discussed'? cause that would make me happy.

Option 4. I hate idiots who choose 3.

to be fair ArmA2 on its own has some fucked up bugs and glitches, so a mod in alpha stage is not that bad. If it was a full blown stand-alone release version that was like this then I'd probably be complaining like mad.
