I have tried in many various locations but keep getting the 'you must me in the woods' msg or whatever it says.

Anyone found where to harvest? pls share

I get that problem sometimes in cernarus as well, try doing it first person, open inventory, and do the clicking on the axe, slowly move left and right wile clicking gather wood until you get it. idk why but I have more success in 1st person than in 3rd.
