Gimpy (DayZ) 0 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Like the topic suggests, I've tried the various fixes to get it to work. including the uninstall/reinstall of Battleye, completely deleting DayZ and reinstalling, updating to various versions, etc. through DayZ Commander. I've also tried installing it through the Play Six thing or whatever it's called. That's doesn't work either. So I sit here plagued with the "Arma 2 AO has stopped responding" whenever I try to join a server. Joining through DayZ Commander because I can't find anywhere else to join from.Redownloading the entire Arma game is out of the question as I live in Canada and have bandwidth limitations so I can't spare another 16GB redownloading the game+expansion. The game works fine loading up without the mod, it seems to be a mod specific problem.Tried both stable versions and newest versions, nothing works.Any suggestions? If it helps, I installed it last night and I was able to join a server. I didn't play long but it did crash joining a server prior. The one it let me on was empty whereas the other was not. Again today before having this problem I crashed on a server with people in it and got on to one without. As well, when I was going through the steps to fix the crash problem (from a thread on here) when I uninstalled Battleye from the Arma 2 regular version folder I was able to connect but then once I installed it again it crashed. Either way it's a big problem as I can't get on anything currently.update:I deleted the Battleye file from: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\ArmA 2 OA\BattlEyeand I was able to join a server. Howerver, with the filters checked to hide different versions of both Arma 2 and DayZ I got onto the server and it said hey you're running a different version. So I exited, opened up Commander again and tried to connect to another server...guess what....crash! Tried deleting that file again and joining another server...nope, still crashing. So now my fix that wasn't really a fix but half worked isn't working. This is wonderful. MellowYellow (DayZ) 0 Posted September 7, 2012 Have you tried joining a game without dayz running to see if it crashs?
Gimpy (DayZ) 0 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) I just opened up OA regularly through steam. Disabled all the DayZ stuff in the expansion menu and tried to join a server. I got in no problem. However the server was a DayZ server. There is a ? on the left beside the server name I have no clue what that means right now.So why can I do that but not through Commander where I can see a better list of servers? It's the up to date version of Commander. I'd prefer to be able to see all the information as seen in Commander and join accordingly. As well how do I even join a server without DayZ for that matter now?Another tidbit, the server I'm on is running 1.7.2.5 while I'm running 1.7.2.6. Is that supposed to happen? Or at least I thought I was...I installed 1.7.2.6 with Commander but when I joined a .6 server it said I had .5 and needed to update.
