Just some ideas on how they might work for/in DayZ:

-Civilian handheld video cams should be available to find, what with a zombie outbreak going on, it would be reasonable to expect survivors roaming around with one in an attempt to document the devastation - ala the [REC] movie series.

-Have you ever wondered what happened to those bear traps you planted - did a survivor/bandit/someone's dog get cought in one? Well now you can find out for yourself!

-You could even start a sort of treaseure hunt by dropping cassettes giving clues as to where they can find a stash of loot (STALKER anyone?), OR EVEN YOU! :murder:

- Leave spooky or encrypted messages on tape!

-GREEN MOUNTAIN + cams = endless possibilities.

(NOT REALISTIC BUT)

-Survivors or bandits could use them (with/without tripods) as a surveilance device - ala Gary's Mod. And yes, I do realize this might break the realism since you can't view what you're taping on a normal handheld cam in real time if you're not there to view it (IRL they're might be a way, but I'm talking about everyday 'cheap' cams).

I like this people can record there story an people can pick up the cameras of body an view how they lived if they were good or bad etc.
