Zeds & the wilderness

Recommended Posts

Hey, I'm kinda new to DayZ and I love the mod.

But one thing that kinda bugs me about the mod is that the wilderness seems rather empty/lifeless in comparison to those crowded small towns with tons of zeds.

And I always wondered how those zeds got around.

Then I stumbled upon this picture which inspired me to write this suggestion.

How about zeds that sometimes spawn in towns/near buildings and then proceed to shuffle along roads to the next settlement. Or they could just walk in a straight line of into the wilderness.

I think that would add immensely to the tension when walking around in the wilderness, especially at night. It may happen only rarely, but the danger of running carelessly into a pack of 4-8 zombies just walking along a road or in a forest, imho, is rather thrilling. (Imagine walking in pitch black through a forest and then you hear faint moaning in the distance, but you can't see anything, and while you sneak forward you're scared by every movement you spot, maybe a zombie or just a bush in the wind?, while nourishing your paranoia.)

Either way, I would love to see zombies act more like 'real' zombies and less like just-in-time spawned bipedal watch dogs for loot spawns.

Anyways, thanks for reading. :)
