ramboraider 2 Posted May 5, 2012 Hey, i'm pretty knew here, and i'd realise that its realy hard to meet up with other people because of those random spawns and everything, and its almost impossible to meet with your friends to start a group play.what do you think? discuss. oilman 72 Posted May 5, 2012 Actually I've found the opposite. It's incredibly easy to meet up with people, as long as you have a relatively good idea of the coast and the towns along it: It's simply a matter to go east along the rails or west along the rails. As well as that, spawning apart from your friends will not only force you to fend for yourself for some time (A good part of the game - starting off in a group of 5 means you will almost never die to zeds), but will also mean you encounter strangers along the way whom, in my experience, are usually friendly and will join you. Malaclypse 3 Posted May 5, 2012 Disagree. My friends and I have spawned all over the map from eachother, and even after the tent/vehicle wipe of 1.5.4 have managed to find one another with relative ease (browser maps of Chernarus are rad) even during the night, and set up a camp with vehicles floating around.I will admit that it's somewhat more difficult to meet up with other pubby players, but again, browser maps or just having a good existing knowledge of Chernarus are rad. I've seen countless groups of randoms locate eachother over side-chat, work together to move north, and ultimately get ganked by the Bandits who were working together to follow them! ramboraider 2 Posted May 5, 2012 I dont know realy, pretty hard meeting up with a mate when you spawn with no Map, no Compass, or anything like that.i do agree being alone is part of the game, and i do meet other players who just spawned, but you gotta learn the map pretty good in order to get to the locations you need and meet up.i suggest maybe safe zones or shuttles? Something of sort?
Freek314 32 Posted May 5, 2012 After about 60-70 hours of gameplay you'll realize it's amazingly easy to navigate and that the map is not really as large as it seems at first.Hang in there!
Pallidum 33 Posted May 5, 2012 I've somewhere between 40-60 hours in the game and I've found that it's progressively easier to find my way around and meet up with my friends. In many locations, I no longer need a map to still know exactly where I am - even in the middle of the forest.A tip, if you die and respawn on the northeast coast and your friends are in the southwest, simply suicide and hope that you respawn closer to them. That makes meeting up a lot easier.
oilman 72 Posted May 5, 2012 +1 to what Pallidum said. As well as that, even if you CAN'T find your friend, chances are you will both at some point find Chern or Elektro, and from there it's easy to meet up.

What you do is, when you first load in, read the white text at the bottom right of the screen, that tells you where you are, then you go to one of the hundreds of interactive maps and you can navigate that way. LondonHyena 7 Posted May 5, 2012 Once you get the hang of things, learn how to read the map properly and figure out the main locations and funnel points its easier to meet up with people. Dont be disheartened at first, its just a learning curve as basically you are in a new place completely.

ramboraider 2 Posted May 5, 2012 I Wonder if anyone Thought about Adding ACRE To the game, so we Could:A. Talk on Direct, much easier.B. if we find a Radio - use it to team up ETC.
Difecti 11 Posted May 5, 2012 Apparently there are some issues with adding ACRE to Day Z. Cant remember what they were, but I know they're on the forum somewhere.
