icor1031 1 Posted September 4, 2012 This is the third time that I have been somewhere else, then when I reconnect/join a new server, my character has all of his equipment..But he's back at the coast! What's the deal!?
Wiley 49 Posted September 4, 2012 Did you have a session before logging in that had you stuck at the "Loading" screen, and you shut the program down? If so that's why.It puts you in the debug plains to start with, then when loading is completed it puts you at your last known position. If you stop the program while it's stuck on "Loading", the debug plains become your last known position, and it respawns you on the coast rather than off the map.If that's not the case, no idea. Bizmal 19 Posted September 4, 2012 Make sure your server version matches the dayz version u have. I use dayz commander for that. But you don't have too.
Muncywolverine 236 Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) The guy above me is correct. While force-quitting the game during the loading screen is sometimes unavoidable (stuck on loading screen), it corrupts your location. When you log in again, the game doesn't have a location for you anymore, so you spawn on the coast.Try to only join servers that you know you will be able to connect to.Edit: Actually meant the guy two posts above me >.>. byrdman 17 Posted September 4, 2012 Wiley right, also dont Alt F4 that'll mess up your last known saved location. Constantly server hopping can cause Coast Spawns as well.

(hit ALT-F4). if that doesn't work then you have to go into your task manager and do it. now if you get stuck entering the 2nd server then launch a 3rd one, keep doing it until you get into a server.and one more thing, try not to log into a server with ZERO players. those are the servers that I usually get stuck at loading screen.btw- I'm using DayZ commander, not sure if sixupdater is able to launch servers simultaneously.

Never thought of it... i don't think your CD key is in use untill you get past the loading screen, so yeah this would totally work. U have my beans.

Lysander_of_Sparta 43 Posted September 4, 2012 Quit server hopping. I know, that's the main reason you spawn at the coast. I was server hopping once, trying to find a wheel for my car. And, guess what? I eventually spawned at Elektro.Needless to say, it pissed me off.

slartibartfast (DayZ) 77 Posted September 4, 2012 You really have to make sure that your versions of dayz and arma2 ate the same as the server you are trying to join. Commander is awesome at managing the versions and will install them on the fly.For those times when you really need to change servers. ;)

It is joining a server with the wrong dayz or arma version. And it can be used as an exploit, but that would be very naughty.
