Why should Dean read this series before while making the stand alone? Simple.

The zombies in this series are scary and they are the best of both worlds of zombies.

They are Dead/Alive, they Run and shamble and they need the classic head shot to put them down.

They are the best zombies for a standalone dayz ever!

Not really it is just a suggestion to have Dean Hall Read those books While he makes the zombies for the standalone.. Because they are scary/fast/slow and take head shots to kill.

The books also contains allot of info most people just don't think about. Like how the infected could spread stuff like that.

Of course the infected could spread their infections how else would it manifest. Id hope dayz players are smart enough to realize that.
