pjsproject24 0 Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) Hey I'm a new player and just getting back into computer gaming after a 5 year hiatus. I played ArmA2/Dayz at a friends and I was hooked so I decided to buy a new computer as the current desktop is junk. I'm looking to know which computer would be best for DayZ and other games as well. I'm trying to decide on 2 computers with the following specs. Thanks in advance.Computer 1: Computer 2: Also sorry if this is the wrong spot, read the post and figured this was best place since I'm new. UrbanXFX (DayZ) 0 Posted September 4, 2012 #2, More RAM and better GFX card.
XAM 48 Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) I'd say Computer #1 with a better graphics card and more ram. Intel has better CPU's than AMD, but they also cost more.Check if you can switch that 460 into a 670/680. Edited September 4, 2012 by XAM

XAM 48 Posted September 4, 2012 I would get a better gcard but im sadly on a budget.I would recommend you to wait then instead of getting parts that ain't that good. I'm not even sure a 460 can handle DayZ that good.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted September 4, 2012 #2 but you will probably want a new processor at some point in the not so distant future.

pjsproject24 0 Posted September 5, 2012 I found a similar computer to #1 with what seems like a better graphics card and more ram. Let me know what you guys/girls think, its also around the same price as them both.

jurrasstoil (DayZ) 12 Posted September 5, 2012 Take PC #1, add another 4gig of ram and swap the 460 for a 7850.The 460 is around 20-25% faster than the 550ti, the 7850 is about 50% faster than the 460 and about 10% faster than a 560Ti.

Unfortunately I cant get a 7850.
WesleyQT 1 Posted September 5, 2012 Both of those computers can run dayz with no problem. I run dayz at high settings and I still have a 8800.
jurrasstoil (DayZ) 12 Posted September 5, 2012 So basically my recent post about the 3rd computer I found. Unfortunately I cant get a 7850.w/o knowing the prices of each PC it's hard to say which one gives you more bang for the buck. However, the 7750 in PC #3 is slower than the 550ti and quite a bit slower than the 460. pjsproject24 0 Posted September 5, 2012 The first and second computer are each around $830 and third is around $850. Unfortunatly i cant go much higher than 850.
jurrasstoil (DayZ) 12 Posted September 5, 2012 (edited) Well, then PC#1 plus get another 4gig of ram. It's 20-30 bucks.Might want to look into custom building one yourself, because 850 seems a bit much for what they offer. I mean, basically the same setup as PC #1 but with a 7850, 8 gigs of ram and a good PSU (not a cheap Logisys for 15 bucks...) would cost about 750 USD on newegg.Seems like they ask for about 200-250 USD more than the components are worth.
