Connection Problems

Seems like whenever I want to join a sever (OP is from Aus), I can't.

Whenever I connect, I always get stuck at 80% of 'Receiving Data', or I get stuck at the 'Loading' screen.

Is this normal, because if it is, what the hell?

If it's not, how do I fix this?

over the weekend and and still up to now i guess there have been connection issues...saw somewhere on the forums that apparently dayz forum got hacked and game has been hacked a lot recently so they implemented some kind of "additional security" and apparently that is causing issues.

No, that was a additional security thing added to the database server for DayZ this morning and it's causing problems.

There is evidence...i really have no idea why they don't make a main post on the announcement page stating why the servers are F'd up....

So what should players do in the meantime?

Cause I'm quite disappointed. I bought Arma:CO just for DayZ and it seems like I arrived during the downfall of it. Spending 30 minutes to join a server for 20 minutes, before it 'stops sending messages' gets a bit demoralizing.

It will be better soon...for me it started working to a decent extent on monday.
