equipping a new bp

so i went for a swim to check out the crashed ship by Rify and i lost my secondary pack or whatever underwater and was not able to retrieve it. found a new pack and was not able to equip that. i found a thread that said to middle click look away and look back at it but the option to equip would not show. whats up with that?

A lot of packs spawn on top of other items, so you need to remove the items around the pack first. Picked up an ALICE today, had to move 3 tin cans out of the way first.

Same here, it seems that the pack is always picked up last or something, as I had this issue more than once.
