Spawning bugs and how to avoid them

We all know the stupid spawning at the coast and dieing upon spawning bugs are shit. There are a few ways to avoid these bugs. First of all the rumor that this is a way to stop server hopping is just that a rumor. This is also not caused by joining servers with different Arma2 versions then you currently have.

Thanks Griff for the updates and for helping to calm the masses of those without patience. So it looks like this issue will persist until the standalone or if they make a new Hive for the alpha mod(One can hope :D).

Now on to avoiding these things. As said before this is due to the system being overloaded and can happen at anytime your most valuable tools for not suffering from these bugs is quick reflexes and a cool head.

First, spawning on the coast. Caused by quitting during the loading screen for any reason as during this you are in the debug and on next login you are kicked out of the debug and onto the very nice coast line of Chernarus. If you get stuck on loading you need to alt-tab out and then launch another game of dayz without closing the stuck on loading game. Once you are actually connected to a server you can then close the frozen game of dayz.

Second, dieing upon logging in. This might be caused by three things. Hive issues, hackers or you're a douche bag that got sniped while spawning in on the Cherno hotel :P . To solve the Hive issue death you have to alt+tab and close the Arma2 window before your five seconds to respawn are up this is where quick reflexes come in. I always have my fingers on alt and tab whenever I'm connecting to a server just for this reason. Then after closing the window try to connect to a different server and hope it doesn't happen again, it has happened to me twice in a row once but doing this still worked and the third time I connected to a server I was in the right location with all my gear. I believe this method works because its technically not a death in that your character is still "alive" with your skin, health, food bar, water bar, location, etc intact he just suddenly crapped out because the Hive is over loaded. Upon the five seconds running out you usually spawn in the debug with nothing and at this point your character is saved with a debug location and with nothing in your inventory and when you log back in it kicks you to the coast with no inventory but your skin, stats and various bodily needs still in the state before it screwed up. This will not save you if you die an actual death as it is instantly saved and followed by having to pick your gender upon respawn which in the case of the spawn bug you don't get the gender screen. For me this method has saved my ass from coastal spawning with no gear seven out of seven times including once about 10 minutes ago so it looks to be a pretty solid way to avoid this bug.
